  1. If we do get promoted I would fear its too soon as the squad would need serious serious investment in order to have a chance of staying up. I think they would go straight back down.
  2. Need to start the Fergie mind games. ''I'm afraid its miracles now....'' ''We can only hope for a Devon Loch''
  3. Just dont have the quality in the box. Played surprisingly well 2nd half.
  4. Rovers started well against Swansea and it went pear shaped. Robinson and Carrol will be a handful
  5. The ruthless brutal authoritarian regime that governs the Premier League have outlawed the practice. Leicester City was a thing of beauty Never seen it done at Ewood. The most adventurous the groundsman got was doing a diagonal patter for the odd game around Nov 1994
  6. I think the netting changed to a hexagonal design rather than the square ones around 1997-1998. Yes theyw ent to shallower nets possibly around 2000-2006. Might have been when Souness was manager but cant remember. For me 94/95 as I love the loop and Shearer's goal looked better with the ball hitting the saggy nets. I think Le Tissier's at Ewood at the end of 1994 looked all the better for it. Love the 92/93 stanchions as well. That was a bit of a strange move to go to those after 91/92 as they are a very old fashioned design. I always wondered who decides to change the post/stanchons every year and why they go for certain types of posts. Chelsea and spurs literally never changed their goals from the 70s until the box nettign came in circa Euro 96.
  7. No. You will feel at home here with me and the other oddballs. Need net sag as this makes goals look spectacular. Think USA 94
  8. Speaking of Portman Road, what's going on here with these mad nets
  9. blackburn box netting.webpFor the stanchion and net geeks. What was your favourite Ewood stanchions? 1988 Loop with Stripey nets 1992-94 Stamford Bridge type stanchions 1994/5 Loop 1995 onwards modern box netting Box nets: 1994/95 loop blackburn box netting.webp1988 stripes 1992-94 Stamford bridge type
  10. I think the attendances were boosted by large away support allocation though no?
  11. Ewood Park is too big for Blackburn. A 15,000-20,000 capacity stadium would have been plenty.
  12. Looked at it again there. It was certainly brainless what Hendry did but you may be right. Not sure how much connection there is. Gillespie didnt protest too much. Hendry looked a bit guilty though. Loved them old stanchions and nets from 1994/5. Hate the modern box netting they introduced from 1995 onwards The 92-94 Ewood stanchions were a thing of beauty as well!
  13. I don't see us getting anything out of this game bar an unimpressive draw
  14. Why was this taken away as pre match music? It had become tradition.
  15. If Mowbray turns into a disaster by seasons end would Roy Keane be of interest of fans? Not a particular fan of his tbh but might be good enough to get the club out of the championship. (hopefully not down haah)
  16. Really poor performance. Created nothing. Sloppy passing. Looks like teams have worked Blackburn out. Forest sat back tonight which stopped counter attacks knowing Rovers weren't going to break them down. In fact it was Forest who played the counter attacks.
  17. Surprised tobody else named the 95/96 away. Absolute muck with the black badge. Ugh! It was so bad they lost almos every game in it and halfway through the season tried to go back to the much much nicer 94/95 away. Wouldn;t see that now!
  18. It showed tonight though. Tonight the first 80 mins looked like a lazy training game.
  19. I saw a video clip on social media of training the other day. Was shocked at the lack of intensity in the 5 a side game. Very lazy and half hearted. You train how you play.
