We're on the crest of a slump with 4 defeats in 5. It's the perfect time to re-invigorate our season. I'm putting a double Mercer on a 1-0 win for the mighty Rovers. I'll probably buy a vineyard with the winnings. Chin chin! -

Didn't realise Pukki was 33. Maybe a lucrative retirement jaunt to the Middle East awaits him? -
Pears/ Kaminski.. summer plans?
Sweaty Gussets replied to NeilInBristol's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Probably not. TK is contracted until 2025 so if either were to command a decent fee it would be him. We need Raya to be sold for £40m and then we're quids in! I think it's more a case that Pears and TK want 1st team football and won't be happy on the bench. -

Yeah, we'd have to trigger his 1-year extension for him to stay. Unless we offer him a longer deal he may well be off. -

Superb man-management 🤣 They really are stealing a living some of these clowns. -

We haven't seen us come back from a goal down. It's embarrassingly poor. So, like I said, we are good at some things, but not good at others. It's the things we aren't good at that I was referring to, which is why I said 'some' of the players aren't good enough. Sorry coach, I forgot you had your badges. -
Priorities for the summer

Huge summer coming up. We desperately need players who fit the style JDT wants to play. Based on 2 players per position I think we need the following:- GK - I think we are ok if TK stays, but I wouldn't be surprised if Pears leaves and another keeper is signed. Hilton/Eastham may be sent on loan. RB - I think with JRC and Brittain we are well covered. LB - We need one to compete with Pickering as Batty may still be a year or two too young still. CB - Probably our strongest position. Hyam/Wharton/Carter/Phillips. He may bring in an experienced head to replace Ayala and let Phillips go out on loan. CM - Buckley and Travis are good Championship players. Lots of potential in Garratt and A Wharton. We still need more quality, hopefully LOB deal can be resurrected (or similar). What we don't need is another Morton/Clarkson. AMR - Hedges, Gally and Dolan are all squad players in that position IMO. We need a good quality RW who can create chances and score goals. Thomas looked ideal at first, but has fallen away. Someone like him with pace. AMC - Szmodics and Dack are good options (and Dolan/Hedges as back up). Think AMC is the position that is best covered of the front 4. AML - BBD is off. Dolan is a an option but I think we need at least one more. CF - We need two. Gally is not clinical enough and I don't think Vale has shown enough quality to be an option. So 1 x LB, 1 x CM, 1 x AMR, 1 x AML and 2 x CF at a minimum. Crack on Greg! -

I'm not sure the players are particularly suited to the way JDT wants to play, especially the midfield and forwards. Or rather, some of them aren't good enough to play the way he wants to play. Good article in Lancslive the other day about how our full backs play like Man City's full backs, and how that means the CM's get dragged wide on to the touchline, and the FB's take their place in the middle of the park. It's a complicated system even for City and one mistake and the ball's in our own net cos everyone is out of position. All things considered, JDT had done well this season. The good thing is there are lots of players he can replace with better so hopefully next season we improve again. -
People on here congratulating the 6-fingered heathens should be made to form the guard of honour at Ewood, wearing full Burnley kit. Full Kit Dingles.

That's not what JDT said after the match. Were you there?

Revealed: Blackburn Rovers' dismal record when conceding first goal | Lancashire Telegraph 'When Liam Gibbs put Norwich ahead in the 11th minute, racing clear to fire beyond Aynsley Pears, it was the 17th time in which Rovers have conceded first. They have gone on to lose all but one of those matches. Not only that, they have scored just one equaliser, that being Ben Brereton’s free-kick that earned Rovers a point at West Bromwich Albion in February. Unsurprisingly, it is the worst record out of all of the 92 teams across the Premier League and EFL' It's a shocking stat, as other have said. And because we create so few chances the opportunities to equalise are reduced. We're 22nd in the table for shots per game with 9.6. I think we're a very good counter-attacking team, and if the opposition want to fanny about with it at the back we can press effectively like we did at Leicester, for example. But when the onus is on us to create against a team that is just sat in neutral gear we are absolute dogshit. I think we've improved slightly but we need to get a lot better for next season. I don't think JDT has been helped by the people doing the transfers (not signing a decent striker in two windows is very poor). -
I meant his message about AW having to do more work off the ball. I agree with your point though. Good article in the LT today about the lack of response when we go behind. We don't seem to have a clue what to do when we concede firts. JDT has started blaming it on our finishing recently, saying we are making the chances but not converting them. I can't comment on yesterday as I wasn't there, but what was that the case i.e. missed chances?
-
You don't get their crowds.
-
That should definitely be a thing.
-
JDT said as much last December. He's been pretty consistent with the message.
-
'Welcome to Blackburn Rovers. A local club for local people - you'll never leave'
-
Fair play. Nobody has ever bought the league that quickly before.
-
As you're a man in the know @J*B, has there been any fall out from the January transfer window as far as staffing goes, and is JDT still happy at the club?
-
That's 1992 - a young JDT in the foreground and what looks like his mum chuffing on a fag.
-
Why was S Wharton walking your dog?
-
If any of that is true, and it's a big IF, then AW is a Billy big bollox who will probably end up achieving far less than his talents suggest he will.

Could be one of the lowest points totals ever to get 6th spot......maybe a max of 72pts? Only 5th and 6th up for grabs now I would have thought. I'd say Sunderland are now out of the race so it's two play off places available for 6 teams to battle for (from Millwall down to WBA). We play 3 of them (Nobbers, Cov, Millwall) so all is not lost yet.
