Anyway, back on topic. Fuck Burnley.

They're 5 points behind us. Lose at Deepdale and that is in effect 2 points (if everything else remains the same). Our run-in is also a nightmare on paper.

The sheer number of games moved from Sat 3pm this season is unprecedented. I struggle to make games outside of 3pm Sat due to caring responsibilities. There is no longer an incentive for me to buy a ST. Sky now control when I can watch Rovers at Ewood. -

Great Reputations: Blackburn Olympic 1883 – working class heroes – GAME OF THE PEOPLE Not Rovers but interesting nonetheless. -
Dack had the same problem as Wharton in the early part of this season. Dack said himself he'd thrown the toys out and that the penny didn't drop until a few months into the season. He got back in the team on a regular basis when he applied himself in the way that JDT wants. JDT has been saying the same about Wharton for months - he needs to 'do more' to get back in the squad. Wharton should probably listen to the bloke who picks the team.
-
Not sure the conspiracy theories are anything but that. Maybe it's just that JDT doesn't think Wharton is quite ready....plus he's been injured recently. This is from December:- 'Tomasson's challenge to Blackburn Rovers 'big talent' Adam Wharton | Lancashire Telegraph He has since made 12 first-team appearances for the club, scoring his first goal in October’s win over Birmingham City, but he hasn’t been used in the last three league games since being replaced at half time of the league cup at West Ham. There Tomasson felt the teenager struggled with the intensity, and stressed his work out of possession remain is a part of his game that is a work in progress. He added: “He’s taken extremely good steps getting Championship minutes, starts in the Championship and in the cup against West Ham, so he’s making steps and we’re improving him the whole time. On the ball, I’ve told you many times, he’s extremely good, but as a footballer you don’t have the ball at your feet all the time. He’s working hard on that. He’s a young player who’s done a lot in a short period and we’re doing a lot to try and improve him.”

How and why do bookies come up with the names they do? Dos it have any relevance to who is actually favourite for the job? -

He hasn't much choice. The alternative is Garrett/Wharton who he may not think are as ready as Morton for Championship football. I'd suggest none of them are ready for regular football. Buckley is a huge miss. Ferking up the LOB was potentially an even bigger miss. Until the summer we wee with the willy we've got. The next few weeks will tell us if that willy is big enough to get the job done. -

A few weeks JDT said Wharton needed to 'do more' when he was asked about him getting back in the 1st team squad. He said the same of Garrett recently too. Maybe they don't work hard enough in training? JDT repeats the 'team comes first' mantra often. Maybe it hasn't clicked with some of our talented youngsters yet. -
Premier League Table, Form Guide & Season Archives If 2 go down we are right in it still. Looks like Spurs play Wolves tomorrow and then Spurs play Man City on Friday, when we play Palace.

The burden of goals/assists falls to the 'fluid front 4' with the way that JDT likes to play...in that way. The FB's also have a responsibility to get forward. The 2 CM's just sit in and move the ball on quickly for the most part (well, that's the theory at least). Buckley has the long pass in his locker but he's the only one capable of picking it up off the back four and launching a 40 yard pass forward and putting someone clean through. We had the same problem under Mowbray, teams would sit in and we'd struggle. We do it to other teams though, we've sat in multiple times at home when we've been 1-0 up and not conceded. It's hard to break teams down when they defend deep, there's few teams in the Championship that have the players of sufficient quality to overcome it. I have no idea of the personnel he used at Malmo, but with the signing of Sorba it suggests he prefers wingers to 'wide forwards'. So maybe in the summer he'll recruit wide players who can beat a man and create chances, and strikers who can stick the chances away? I think that's what we lack. We're one-dimensional. I think we're good on the break, and have he pacey front men to make it work, but beyond that, when the onus is on us to create, we struggle. That said, I think we're better at it now than before Christmas. -

I might be mistaken. One didn't happen because of cost, GB said as much. So there was a 3rd striker. -

JDT: “I think there were periods where we played really well but were lacking quality in the last third. We had attempts at goal but not the best attempts that you would want.” I think that pretty much sums it up. -

We're good at home, shit away. Our remaining home games are tricky. Lose the Norwich game and I think we're going to struggle to get the 4 wins. My glass is broken 🙂 -

Exactly fella. It's clear to see they have a very specific role. Judging them on goals/assists shows a lack of understanding of the system we play. Travis has been excellent recently too, and Buckley was returning to the top tier Championship footballer we know he is before his cruel injury. It shows their quality that they play a difficult position so well.
