Venky’s v Indian Government (a)

I wouldn't trust ANY govt to hold bonds or guarantees of tens of millions regardless of what it's for. -

Apart from being on the shirts and plastered around the stadium. So we presume that VHPL is owned soley by the Rao's ? Which would fit into the they call all the shots and can never be questioned by anyone here or in India narrative. -

Absolute managed decline due in large part to the imbeciles they pay to run the club who do not have and never will have the experience or gumption to take it in any other direction but shrinkage. -

Last time i looked at VH group there seemed quite a few shareholders although i presume the family are the biggest. There were some heavy hitters on their board as well, retired army officials etc. I doubt they've all been fully in favour of their company sending 15 million or more per year to a British company that provides nothing in return other than large tv exposure to the 'Venky' bit of the company. One does wonder how all this came about in the first place, inside job ??? -
Venky’s v Indian Government (a)

Aye that's my point really as although they are fabulously wealthy i think that wealth is overstated and is all assets combined. The way they fund the club from what we see is the main VH group sends money for bills from its huge monthly turnover and the club via VLL just sits in the accounts somewhere soaking excess money up. So to send 10/20 mill a year over with the same amount guarantees against the business or assets is then stacking up extra debt against it all. Otherwise securing against personal money/assets if it goes on and on is tying huge amounts of money up and of course one wrong move or the govt decide to shaft them they'll keep the money or hold it forever, especially say if a full war breaks out over there. We moan quite rightly because they are in danger of dragging Rovers down again after propping it up off the pitch for years but it really isn't a straight forward issue unless restrictions are lifted. Even then i doubt previous levels of funding will ever be reinstated given their profit margins are now massively reduced due to price increase of raw materials. As you say though it's nothing like the slant SwagHail and the apprentice tea boy are putting on it and i suspect there are alarm bells on standby down there. -
Like i said at the beginning they're playing musical seats with the same fans instead of making a genuine attempt to draw more in. People swapping stands to save 50/100 quid plus isn't going to improve takings is it nor will it improve the atmosphere. likely the opposite. Thick as the mince sitting vacuum packed on ASDA shelves this lot are.

That would be the difference i suspect between bond and guarantee, one being actual funds held separate the other provided by their bank against something. Nobody seems to know although i suppose it could be a combination of the two. Either way and i'm not defending them here it's a difficult one because it either burdens the company with potential debt that it normally just loses in the books. Or it ties up massive liquidity personal or otherwise, 10/20 million a time is a stretch for anyone if it's ongoing in that form. -

They will get desperate because in usual fashion they've left it to chance let it rumble on and now go into panic mode because at some point in the near future the club will run out of money. All that has been obvious all along to all but the Venky cheerleaders in the fanbase. That means panic sales, expensive external borrowings etc OR they have to pay the tariff to send money OR ...SELL ! I cannot see this ending well for anyone tbh unless the judge bends over. -

I'd say it's because it then stands as a 200 million investment on the company portfolio that will guarantee a return when - IF- it ever reaches the Prem. Even Venkys will have to answer to their own bankers etc occasionally and despite how it's run like on a whim the club is actually a company investment not a personal one. -

Gestede talks shite it's just the same soundbites lifted from previous people except he contradicts himself and shows the novice that he is. Plus he repeatedly told everyone the owners are putting money in the owners are funding us despite all available evidence for over a year showing otherwise. I'd suggest nobody knows the budget yet until the V's summer meeting, nothing unusual in that with this lot but this is where major problems manifest. Those at the club 'assume' the budget will be the same and set the stall out for that... then......meeting in the farmhouse and 'no you must cut another 10/20% off it' ! -

Look at Khadra who was in every sense better than Markanday, same age and had a decent time here which caught the attention of Sheff U. There he began to struggle in a side with bigger demands and expectations so now hes gone to somewhere a bit less demanding. Markanday will never step up at best he can be a squad player with the odd good cameo maybe but knowing how light our squads end up he'll have to start games. Very best solution is hope a bid comes in and get some money back. -

No issue with Hedges staying he's a good squad man and probably won't be on big money but i just hope Ismael sees him as more of an away day starter than home one Or preferably he isn't seen as a starter at all if we can get something fresher in attacking wise. -

I often thought when watching those behind the scenes training clips that get released as to who these lads are in the sticks because they look useless. Half the time just stick a hand or foot out or nothing at all and i'm like why the #### aren't you trying to save these shots you are supposed to be training to improve right ? Seems maybe not, just pay some to put the gloves on everyday eh, nice work and i think i'd do better than some of them, genuinely. -

It says to me that the recruitment and coaching at that level is perhaps focused elsewhere. -

They aren't going to pay a younger less experienced person the same as an expert who has been doing it for 30 years it stands to reason. All depends who they recruit for that role but i'm saying they seem to run the backroom staff similar to how they run the team and if there is a chance of saving a few quid they will do. -

Can't believe we never seem to have a capable looking keeper coming through the ranks the academy certainly isn't doing its job with this position. Can't live off Raya forever and even Pears cost about half million but modern young keepers are largely shite anyway at actual goal keeping. Can dribble around their box though and are 6'4" ! -

Pure guesswork i'd say she perhaps fancied a change or retirement and they have agreed whilst there is a bit of money coming in because they think they'll replace her with an up and coming - cheaper - new person. That's how it seems to work down there. -

Yeah 3 part timers with 3 jobs each or maybe an AI app is now the player liason officer, cheaper is always better the Waghail motto. -
I think he got a long contract and payrise after a cameo period in a sort of false 9 and thought he was the main man then the lip came out when he realised he wasn't. He should use Tronstad as his role model.

Wasn't Ismael supposed to have a 3 month clause ? Maybe the eastleigh guy thought it better to wait.
