And there’s the “ typical Rovers “ element of it were anytime we do manage to get a decent gate we play like drains. The guys you’ve dragged along to see a good game just turn around and say” I not paying good money to watch this shite again.” -

I saw a lot of him when he was a Rochdale in the old division 3. He came as a young lad from Fulham I think. He looked very handy at the time, a big strong lad, reasonable pace and touch, very good left foot, knew where the goals were. He hasn’t kicked on as I thought he might do, I think he’s been troubled with injuries a lot of the time.

Of course, but Sir Keith featured mainly as a right back for England. But shock horror in today’s game, he could actually play left back equally well. When I see the like of Trippier looking like a fish riding a bike when he plays left back I wonder what they do all day in training. -
Adam Wharton

I was only thinking about this earlier today. The sign of a really class player is whenever they’re asked to move on up to the next level of football they do it effortlessly and immediately looked like they are part of that team. Wharton has done that each time. Youth football to Championship football - tick Championship football to Premier League football - tick Premier League football to International football - tick -

He seems extremely injury prone. Reminds me a bit of Grella. -

Yeah, you’re right he’s a good solid player. He’s no longer at top level. The problem is he’s had more than his share of injuries. I don’t follow the Prem much but my scouts tell me that lad Mitchell, at Palace, is going as well as anybody Unfortunately the days are gone when you possibly had 16 to 18 English left backs playing at the old top level. You’ll know better than me how many candidate there are but there can’t be that many now. Maybe change to 5 at the back and play Saka as a left wing back.
