You look at your team at the end of the season and decide who is the weakest link and replace them with a better player. Keep doing that and you’ll thrive as a club. Do it the other way around and you’re on the way down.

They’ll have to pull two back to mark him. Then your keeper has a chance of getting out to claim the ball occasionally. No, we’d rather have a crowded goal mouth were the keeper can’t move.

That’s what it looks like to me. He was a fall back option.

That same style of play with Ripley and Wilcox won us the Prem. Now they prefer guys coming inside all the time and congesting the play. I used to play full back and if you’d prevented crosses coming in throughout the game you could come off the pitch with a smile on your face.

As I understand it he’d already agreed to join Sunderland replacing Advocaat but Dick Advocaat had a change of heart at the last minute and decided to stay. A couple of months into the season Sunderland’s result were shit and Advocaat was gone ! Too late for Dyche though.

It was going on before Mowbray was appointed but he did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation.

Dyche was ready to take over at Sunderland a few years ago until Advocaat changed his mind.

Unduly hasty appointment in my opinion.

Not expected to play again until next year.
