  1. Never knew his best 11 and he never settled on a coherent long term way of playing - in five years !
  2. We’re getting a shit load of injuries. Are we going too hard at it in training ?
  3. Played in the same Spurs youth team as Souey.
  4. Could be the new Danny Murphy, could be the new Eyal Berkovic. My money is on the first option.
  5. Another one who likes being a Premier League player without the chore of actually having to play the game.
  6. There’s a reason why he hasn’t played recently. I was never his biggest fan anyway.. He reminded me of kids I played with at school. Just hanging around up front waiting for a pass. Out of possession it was like playing with ten.
  7. How about Marc Keller ? Who remembers him ?
  8. Looking at that photo I bet he was glad when he went bald.
  9. Gives great post match press conferences. If you’re struggling to sleep at night your worries are over.
  10. Anybody watching JRC on Saturday would be having second thoughts.
  11. You look at your team at the end of the season and decide who is the weakest link and replace them with a better player. Keep doing that and you’ll thrive as a club. Do it the other way around and you’re on the way down.
  12. Nobody else does that I can think of. I see Kompany is buying wingers like there’s no tomorrow. Maybe he intends to play that way. Opponents getting around the side of your defence are a defenders worst nightmare. They can play in front of you all day as far as I’m concerned. What do I know though ? It’s like this latest “ everybody back to defend corners” bollocks. Get your quickest forward, say Dolan, on the half way line. He’s no use defending a corner anyway being 5 ft nothing. They’ll have to pull two back to mark him. Then your keeper has a chance of getting out to claim the ball occasionally. No, we’d rather have a crowded goal mouth were the keeper can’t move.
  13. That’s what it looks like to me. He was a fall back option.
  14. That same style of play with Ripley and Wilcox won us the Prem. Now they prefer guys coming inside all the time and congesting the play. I used to play full back and if you’d prevented crosses coming in throughout the game you could come off the pitch with a smile on your face.
  15. Then you see City still trying to strengthen their team even after signing “ the last piece in the jigsaw “, Haaland. That’s the way to do it. When you’re at the top of the tree and everybody wants to play for you. We still had too many people at the club with a small team mentality. “ We’ve won it once, that’ll do for me “.
  16. Makes you wonder doesn’t it. I know he’s blown hot and cold in the past but not to this degree.
  17. Started out playing left back at Wolves but with England international Bobby Thompson already being there he eventually went to Oldham. He moved into midfield there and within a season or two Preston signed him. We signed him from Preston.
  18. Great player. Somebody was talking about “ warriors “ the other day. He was a real warrior. When we sold him to Hull our relegation was nailed on.
  19. As I understand it he’d already agreed to join Sunderland replacing Advocaat but Dick Advocaat had a change of heart at the last minute and decided to stay. A couple of months into the season Sunderland’s result were shit and Advocaat was gone ! Too late for Dyche though.
  20. It was going on before Mowbray was appointed but he did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation.
  21. Dyche was ready to take over at Sunderland a few years ago until Advocaat changed his mind.
  22. Unduly hasty appointment in my opinion.
  23. Not expected to play again until next year.
