  1. You’re mixing up your players Jim, he doesn’t play for Barnsley.
  2. “ Range Rovers “ are being stolen for fun in my area. Key less entry makes them easy to steal. I doubt wether he’ll see that again. It’ll be in bits by the end of the week. You can’t get spare parts for them at the moment apparently.I’ve seen plenty of them with an old fashioned ‘ dust bin lid “ lock over the steering wheel recently.
  3. Mowbray made some really weird decisions in his time here but playing a left back on the right wing was up there with the strangest.
  4. That was a good time to play Hudds just like QPR at home was a good starter for us. Let’s wait and see what happens in a month or two.
  5. Recovering mentally from serious injuries, especially if they occurred in innocuous circumstances, is much more difficult than getting over the physical side of the injury.
  6. That was it with Mowbray - we rarely had a coherent, consistent way of playing and he very rarely knew what his best eleven looked like.
  7. They’re going to do a Barnsley if they’re not careful. The midfield lad they sold to Forest was the best midfielder in the league for me last season
  8. I’d like it if he puts one on that centre half that did Gallagher. It was the sort of foul you used to see in amateur football years ago but very rarely in modern pro football with TV cameras. The linesman must have had his eyes painted on, he should have been watching for stuff like that. Their bloke picked on the right guy in Gallagher, he’s a big soft lad who wouldn’t have retaliated even if he could.
  9. Luton are shall we say “ combative “ . They beat us up at their place last season. One really reckless challenge put one of our players out for a couple of months and another sly elbow to the upper chest when the ball was on the other wing saw Gallagher go off coughing up blood. That one was totally un punished, the other incident was a yellow card. It’ll be interesting to see how you go on. If it’s at Burnley they may have to rein in the physicality but down there be prepared for an ale house game.
  10. That applies to most of the team although two of the usual culprits in Rothwell and Lenihan have left. Kicking the ball away, chatting to the ref, silly pointless fouls in our opponents half do my head in. Deliberate fouls should be reserved for goal saving situations.
  11. What disheartens me and I suspect lots more regular attendees that don’t go as much anymore is the total lack of direction at the top. It’s no fun sailing in a rudderless ship.
  12. They’ll need to buy him a right foot first.
  13. To me he’s always reactive and never proactive. Unless it comes to selling the training ground of course.
  14. One thing about it is your games will be no longer as predictable as they were. Anything can happen now. New line up. Probable new way of playing. Lots of new faces. Some interesting young players. Change of style. Kompany has come in to re-build and he’ll find it a lot easier to re-build in this division than the Prem.
  15. I can’t remember another team that was relegated from the Prem having such a clear out. Most teams lose a few of their better players but this is verging on a whole team, or certainly all the ones capable of playing at that level.
  16. Who do we sell next year to help with FFP ?
  17. This league is a grinder. You’ve got to be able to fight for the right to play your football. That’s been our failing over the years. Too much prospective son in law material and not enough JoeyBarton/Robbie Savage/David Speedie type bastards. Maybe Kompany knows that and is getting rid of the players who don’t fancy the battle.
  18. Milly Bright is a class act. A womens football version of Bobby Moore.
  19. That’s a point. The officials in this league tend to let a lot more go by. We got beaten up at Luton last season. A reckless tackle saw Edun off for a couple of months and that sly elbow on the blind side saw Gallagher coughing blood up.
