  1. Nobody is saying we should long ball it all the time. The odd one can catch out even the best centres halves. I’ve seen it happen with Rovers centre halves often enough. Glencirbigli away anybody ?
  2. Bottom half if we’re lucky. Bottom third if we aren’t.
  3. You don’t know till you try it. If I had a quid for every time I’ve seen good centre halves misjudge an ale house ball down the middle I’d be rich.
  4. It won’t work because the minute you get a decent player they’re taken off you.
  5. I got told this when I was a 15 year old school boy player - “ When we have the ball make the pitch as big as you can, when they have the ball make the pitch as small as you can “. Basic football tactics, that was 50 plus years ago.
  6. How did he avoid getting us relegated ?
  7. It’ll carry on like that until we get a group of players that want it more than their players. It’s as simple as that. Have they got better players than we have ? I’d say not. So what’s the difference then ? Too many “ good son in law “ material and not enough winners.
  8. That’s been going on for way too long. That tells me we haven’t got enough battlers in the camp.
  9. He couldn’t be dropped after that performance on Wednesday. If he’s a smart kid he’ll learn from today.
  10. Not for me matey. Real cricket yes, baseball no.
  11. You’ll get good odds on Nyambe scoring.
  12. Just add that game to the very, very, very long list of games were we’ve lost after going behind. That needs to change asap.
  13. He’s not paid to be in shock, he’s paid to sort the job out.
  14. What about the games when it didn’t work ? Another interesting selection dilemma for JDT. I’d like to see Hirst at some point in the game. Wether I’d start him is another story but I haven’t seen him in training.
  15. Benching Wharton was the sort of thing our last manager would have done. Then have to bring him on at half time. It’ll be interesting to see how JDT approaches this. From what I saw the lad could have played another 90 minutes on Wednesday night. When it’s going well you never want the game to end.
  16. And then you get the guy that concussed Szmodics gets away with it because cameras weren’t there. Plus the guy at Luton ( I know who you are ) who stiff armed Gally got clean away with it and that was on camera.
  17. I see ex-Rover Callum Wright has signed for Blackpool. He should have stayed with a good team.
  18. Fair enough if it’s applied to everybody.
  19. I remember Peter Dobing at Stoke. He was very much a Dack style striker that dropped back into midfield after injury. He still had enough football intelligence to be able to pull the strings from a less advanced position.
  20. Let’s see how he goes on at Sunderland.
  21. I think the Dack of old might not return. Hopefully we can have a new Dack operating a bit deeper in more of a playmaker role. He’s still got an eye for a killer pass as he proved the other night.
  22. Not by me. Grealish was always a cut above Brad.
  23. We’ve tended to follow good performances up with indifferent ones in the past. Especially in a Weds-Sat format. I’d take any sort of a win today. Bristol are no mugs and they managed to steal all three points in last seasons death spiral if my memory serves me well. I’ll go for Rovers 2-1.
  24. He blew hot and cold too often for me in a position were you can’t afford to be cold. Some games you didn’t know he was out there. He’s playing a level too high in the Prem. His bank manager will be delighted though.
