  1. There’s more chance of me playing for Rovers next season than Brererton.
  2. At least they’ve not ruined my Saturday this time. What’s the world coming to when I’m relieved we aren’t playing !
  3. He needs to do something about his liking for cheap bookings. He gets booked too often for a player who isn’t particularly physical.
  4. Write down a list of the 20 most likely candidates, then tear it up because the new manager won’t be on it. That’s what happened the last two times. Who saw Coyle and Mowbray coming ? I didn’t.
  5. We’re back to normal with a Mowbray team selection. He doesn’t know his best team again and because of that he doesn’t know what formation to play. Any players reading this - forget the usual bullshit as to how well we’re going to play. Just do it, and then you can talk about it.
  6. And we haven’t got one of what I would consider to be a “ hard man “ in the team. Travis is only playing at it. They’ll all soft lads who think kicking the ball at an opponent is being ‘“ hard “.
  7. Lenny and Pickering as full backs ? Not for me. If we’re playing 4 at the back one of Wharton, Van Hecke and Lenihan will have to sit on the bench. Next to Ayala no doubt.
  8. I don’t think he invented it but he’s certainly popularised it.
  9. I remember the last time Everton were in this predicament and in the last game of the season the opposite goalie phoned one in. And phoned one is being kind. Later on he just happened to pay £19,000 in his bank account, just a coincidence obviously.
  10. Which half of ours are on the beach ?
  11. Who needs “ hateful Burnley fans “ when we have the Chicken Chokers.
  12. “ Wisden “ telling it like it is I believe.
  13. He’s signed some really poor left backs in his time here. Only that Cunningham looked half decent and he got crocked.
  14. Same thing happened when Mowbray got the job if I remember rightly. His name was never mentioned.
  15. Regarding the money we would have got for Rothwell - I’m not sure I’d want Mowbray to be spending it if the five we signed in January are anything to go by. He gets more wrong than he gets right in my opinion. I suspect he wanted the lad who went from Peterborough to Bournemouth. I’m not up to speed with his performances there but I don’t see his name on the score sheet very often. Obviously the plan backfired in one way because Rothwell has done next to nothing since the move broke down.
  16. Thanks Tony, I’ve been really busy today. More than can be said for Rovers.
  17. Is that the Martin Hodge who used to play in goal ? If it is he had a spell at Rochdale, he was very popular there.
  18. I don’t think you can read too much into his demeanour. He never seems happy even when we win well.
  19. He might. Not much further to travel.
  20. Given how few games left you’ve got you’d probably do as well to stay with the guys that did the job on Sunday as bring in a panic appointment new guy. There’s not really time for a new man to get going and there’s the chance he might make changes that upset the apple cart. When the dust settles in the summer you’ve got time for a good look round. One of Forest and Hudds at least are not going up. If they get pipped by Luton maybe both of them won’t go up. Some decent managers there that won’t get promoted. Just my honest thoughts.
  21. Some really good players in their team.
  22. Who would you rather have playing out wide left, Scott Sellars or Sam Gallagher ? That old left footer playing on the left and a right footer playing on the right seemed to work ok back then.
  23. Bravery on the pitch comes in different forms. I never saw Berkovic win many tackles but he’d always show for the ball no matter who or how many were marking him, how close they were, and where he was on the pitch. He never hid when the pressure was on. There are players in our team that equate bravery with kicking the ball away or arguing with the ref. They are cowards and we all know who they are.
  24. I was nearly right then !
