  1. He’s doing his best to keep them in it at the moment. When you’re talking keepers a good big ‘un is always better than an average sized keeper.
  2. If it’s that bad I don’t think he’ll be needing a physio for a while. Let’s hope it looks worse than it is. I don’t like to see a player stretchered off. I had two rides on the stretcher myself. It’s not a nice experience.
  3. Looking down their team they seem to be going for it. More attacking players in the line up.
  4. I’m a bad loser and a good winner. My day is spoiled when we lose.
  5. He’s never really got to grips for any length of time with 1) he’s rarely come up with a coherent style of playing 2) he doesn’t know his best team. 3) he’s never had a plan b when plan a isn’t working 4) he’s never been able to instil the ability to play games out - how many goals have we conceded in the last ten minutes in his time here ?
  6. The close season is there to look forward to. Like I look forward to the international breaks. They can’t spoil your weekend then.
  7. Two on the beach clubs - sounds a classic.
  8. It’s going to be a mobile home site. You can rock up with your caravan and get a pitch side view. When you fall asleep your bed is only a few steps away.
  9. I only read this site, it wastes enough time as it is. Plus at my age you can only take so much bad news in one day. When they appointed Coyle I gave it all up and I felt like a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders. My total interest in the club boiled down to just looking at my phone at 4-55pm on a Saturday for the scores. That was it. Unbelievable really given, wives, jobs, houses etc etc had all come and gone leaving Rovers the only constant in my life since I was ten years old.
  10. Like you say, it was a mirage. I can’t remember the last time I thought we had a team with a level of commitment equal to the rugby lads, maybe under Mark Hughes ? Most of them didn’t take a backward step when the going got tough. I bet Ryan Nelsen had played a bit of Rugby in his time, he certainly played like he had.
  11. Me too. I wouldn’t be interested in shaking the hand of many of them. Too many players that are just passing through the club.
  12. Correct, starting Edun was a strange one given his lack of game time but once he’d decided to sub him it should have been done straight away.
  13. I think they could keep Mowbray and crew purely because they are too lazy to do anything else.
  14. I thought the Lambert appointment was the first sensible things the Chokers had done. Not just Lambert but Irvine and the other guy ( Billy Barr ? ) he brought in as assistants. One way or another it all fell apart in no time though.
  15. I agree. For a start it’s a really good time to play West Ham. They’re playing far too many games for a squad their size. Injuries are starting to pile up.
  16. The rugby was a great afternoon out, until I turned on my phone after our game to see our score go from 0-1 to 1-1 to 2-1 in the blink of an eye ! There’s something rotten at the heart of the club. I think we all know what that “ something “ is. I’m sick and tired of the lack of commitment to the club and the shirt. The culture of failure at Rovers runs right through the club, only a change of ownership will eradicate it. Players thinking that pulling somebody back by the shirt equates to getting stuck in. They make me sick, the lot of them. They should watch the part time pro Rugby League lads, the plumbers and joiners, they really put their bodies on the line every week for a pittance. It’s what’s beating under the badge that matters in sport and too many at Ewood have a caraway seed instead of a heart.
  17. It sounds like there’s been a massive clear out behind the scenes at Burnley. The guy who was chief exec at my rugby league club was a Burnley fan and a few years ago he left to take up a job there on the commercial side. His dream job apparently. I hadn’t seen him since he left our club but recently he’s rocked up at Rochdale AFC, again in some sort of commercial role. Next time I see him I’ll ask him about the goings on at the dingledome.
  18. Thanks as always Tony. I missed the game so your report is invaluable. Thoroughly depressing reading. Have they no pride in themselves !
  19. Rovers to find a new way of losing.
  20. I thought the whole idea of employing coaching staff was so the players don’t have to learn the hard way.
  21. He still couldn’t resist going back to Boro for Morrison.
  22. I was just reading we are also the worst disciplined team in the league with 5 red cards and 51 yellow cards. How many of those yellow cards have been for little lads offences like talking back to ref and kicking the ball away etc ? I wouldn’t mind but this is the softest Rovers team I can recall in many years, apart from 2 or 3 players we haven’t got a battler at the club. Two things win you games - discipline and defence. Mowbray is obviously useless at both of those.
  23. He’s no more idea of why we went on the winning run than he has of getting us out of the losing death spirals. He’s clueless. Does throw any light on it ?
