I thought the ref in tonight’s Luton v Chelsea game did well. What could have been a feisty game was under control with only one booking late in the game.

When I used to watch European football back in the day I used to think “ these referees are poor, not a patch on our guys “. Now the shoe’s on the other foot and by and large the European refs are better.

He comes across as not being aggressive . You can’t put it there if it isn’t there.

Gallagher can win un-opposed headers, he just can’t jump with centre halves and win them. We learnt that in his first spell here and nothing has changed.

I think if Ericsson can recover his “ A “ game Brentford have a chance. If he can’t then things aren’t looking good. The game against Burnley is massive.

Huddersfield won there, are they any better than we are ? I think mentally they’ll be rembering the 7-0 and expecting things to be easy. It’s human nature.

Nyambe will be missed, I’m not thrilled with Zefuik as a defender. He looks a bit hot headed to me. Rather him than JRC though.

It reminds me of an American boxer being interviewed after knocking out a glass jawed British heavyweight in the first round. The Yank said “ I thought your guy was an awkward opponent “. He’ll be missed on Saturday. On Ayala, I was watching my Rugby League team warm up yesterday. I found myself smiling to myself at the thought of Ayala warming up with them. The image of Ayala smashing into a tackle bag was really amusing. These lads are on peanuts in the terms of wages but they give everything to the cause.
