  1. I can’t see them playing Hill much this season. He must be one for the future surely.
  2. I’m not sure a Ramsey is what you need. I rate him very highly as a player but does he want to get involved in a dogfight ?
  3. If we need to go the ale house football route we could bring Ayala on and put the Flying Dutchman up front. He’ll put himself about !
  4. Are we taking about Usain Bolt here ?
  5. We’ve moved away from that style of play.
  6. I can’t see Tony going for him if he turns up dressed like that.
  7. Sunglasses, phone, wallet, note book, Covid masks, comb ( yeah I still need one ) .
  8. Trying to sign Aaron Ramsey from Juventus apparently. They’ve more chance of signing Alf Ramsey.
  9. Hey, I’ve got a man bag. I wouldn’t hold that against him. What I’m not impressed with is his recent playing record.
  10. It’s a bit of a gamble. Will they be signing Diaz or will they be signing Brererton ?
  11. Mm, I’m a bit worried he might be a “ broken toy “.
  12. Given the level of the opposition most of the time statistics like that can be misleading. Most top players can look good against the likes of Transylvania and Treasure Island. I can honestly say I don’t what all the fuss is about, he looks very ordinary to me.
  13. Thanks as always Tony. Looks like the sponsors got the MOTM award just about right.
  14. Something has been wrong here for the last ten years. I think we all know what that something is.
  15. Maybe we’re looking for a player who’s better suited to the role of right wing back. Tony’s been trying to play with three centre halves since the first game after we got relegated. He’s never had three centre halves who can play that system until now. In a back four I’d have Nyambe every time, he’s a tough opponent who can more than hold his own against most wingers in this div. One on one he’s hard to get the better of and not many will beat him in a foot race. In a back five you need more creativity out wide, your wing backs have to be an attacking outlet. Much as he tries that’s not Nyambe’s strong point. He’s got the legs to get up and down but in all the years he’s played for us very rarely has that led to anything. I like to see the lad stay but if he wants to leave he goes with my best wishes.
  16. Yes it’s very good. What would a goal scorer like Andy be worth today ?
  17. They could have played Cavani up front and got the same number of goals and a bit less selfish posing.
  18. Signing Ronaldo was a massive error of judgement. It’s hard to come with a way of playing that allows him to goal hang up front in modern football.
  19. I like Nyambe but If we intend to play with wing backs permanently Byrne is a better bet offensively.
  20. We’re watching “ The Tourist “ . If I was ever considering moving to Australia I’m not now.
  21. I think Mowbray has been thinking about a new striker since Poveda got that bad injury.
  22. I got the impression they were hoping he’d be back up/replacement for Buckley if he was struggling. Obviously that hasn’t been the case.
  23. We weren’t /aren’t the sort of club that can afford to spend £7 Million on “ potential “. We play in the here and now. Not many clubs outside the Prem big six are able to gamble that sort of money on a hunch. If we sell Brererton now and then fail to get promoted how has this “ potential “ advanced the club ?
