  1. Lenihan still hasn't learnt not to be drawn to the ball un-necessarily. What can be a positive for a midfield player is a negative for a defender. Jones at Utd is another one with that failing in his game.
  2. Err, the play-off spot is out of the question already.
  3. I thought it stood for - There Is No Alternative, for a minute !
  4. Two goalie's wouldn't have kept that out. Great free kick.
  5. Then the first thing he says at the start of the new season is - " Let's give the lads who got us up a chance first ". The bloke's a crack pot.
  6. Looking at the players on an individual basis only takes you so far. I can't see how his signings have been made with a view to creating a team. Unless you're planning to play with 6 in midfield that is
  7. What makes it worse is we had a good look at him at Rovers. Then he had a really indifferent spell at Big Club before doing nothing back Southampton. There was no need to take the risk, for £5 million other options were available.
  8. I was texting my son after last nights game but he wouldn't reply. I could guess why. He's just replied now - " That first half was as bad an half as I've ever seen, anywhere, not just Rovers ".
  9. You'd have to be a masochist to pay to watch the tripe on offer at the moment.
  10. Seasons for me. The way we huffed and puffed to get promoted spoke volumes. I lost count of the number of games were all we had was a good 20-25 minutes. Usually that was enough, given the talent we had in the team. Even then I couldn't see a well coached or well organised team. We just had better players. Now we haven't got better players than most teams we play we are crying out for a way of playing that highlights what strengths we may have. Given the totally random collection of players Mowbray has signed that's not going to be easy.
  11. The chances of being able to continually bump along in mid table are nil. The minute you stand still in football you are actually going backwards.
  12. Nobody goes out there deliberately trying to lose. Well I can only think of one player in the past I could point that finger at. No names, no pack drill - as my dad used to say. I think we all know who I mean. It's like any other line of work. If you think the management don't know what they're doing and they're holding the company back you still keep battling on in your own individual role but your level of effort and commitment to the greater cause is bound to suffer. People who should know better equate team spirit with high fives, knee slides, holidays snap out in the sun. That's all bollocks. Team spirit is coming from behind when you're up against it. Team spirit is geeing each other up when things are tough. I don't see that at Rovers. The stat of how many games we've gone on to win from a losing position in the last few years is damning.
  13. My experience is of watching several Rovers teams that went out of the division at the wrong end. The one thing they had in common was players getting injured on a regular basis. I didn't know JRC and Johnson were back in training. Call me a cynic but I'll be delighted if one of them doesn't go missing again before the end of the season.
  14. Then you get the ones that don't fancy it, the ones that the Manager has pissed off.
  15. Do you think Dack would have still been here today if he hadn't have been injured 14 months ago ? Most players play for themselves first and foremost, the team is a poor second and the fans are way down the list. I don't think Dack is an exception to that list. The more they get paid the less commitment you appear to get. On another point = just how many players have been injured this season ? Or putting more simply how many haven't been injured ? Previous experience tells me the greater the number of injuries you have at the club the lower the morale of the players is. I'm not talking serious injuries like broken legs etc I mean the little niggles that seem to last for ever. Anybody know when Ayala is likely to be available for selection ? Next August maybe ? JRC ? Johnson ? Trybull ?
  16. That reminds me of a top American boxer who came over here to fight the British champion. He knocked our guy out in a couple of rounds. After the fight a journalist asked him what he thought of his opponent. The Yank said " I thought he was a really awkward opponent ". The reporter asked " What do you mean, you knocked him out in two rounds ? " The Yank replied " Well, when I knocked him out he fell over awkwardly ".
  17. They reminded me of my rugby league team when the wages haven't appeared in their bank accounts. I've seen other teams were you later find out the players had bot the hump with the manager. We just look like them. If that's not the case I wouldn't like to see us when we really aren't trying !
  18. i like Johnno but he's unfortunately tarred with the Mowbray/Venus brush for me. He's down as " first team coach " on the staff list. You'd think they'd were just a group of blokes who'd met up on the carpark at Ewood before getting on the coach.
  19. It's not just losing that's the problem, our form is abysmal and has been for a while in spite of a few results going our way. Playing like we did tonight who would you back us to beat ?
  20. It was obvious to those with eyes that see that he'd lost the players a few games ago. They're playing to get him out now in my opinion.
  21. Who's going to put down good money for Dack at the moment ?
  22. Yeah, it's a bloody awful photograph !
  23. Relegation form, it's as simple as that. The coach should drop him off at home before it heads back to Blackburn.
  24. Nyambe could have been a top right full back. We've wasted his potential so far.
  25. I sent my son a text earlier _ " Are you watching the game tonight " ? His reply - " Yeah, I'll have it on. I don't get excited anymore. It's more like a chore ". That's from a real die hard Rover.
