  1. Thanks for that. It's hard to get excited with the season just drifting away Dobie Gray style.
  2. A " little loyalty " to Keano saw us lose our Premiership place and it's been downhill ever since. My loyalty is always to Blackburn Rovers - players and managers come and go as they please.
  3. That's exactly it. Practice, practice, practice and then practice some more. You need to be able cross the ball in different ways. The driven cross, the floater, the chipped cross etc they all have a purpose in the game. Two things you need to know, how to cross the ball - that's a skill, where to cross a ball - that's football intelligence. It's no good having one without the other. Being able to cross with either foot is a big asset also. When I was playing I was confident enough to take a corner with either foot off either wing depending on which way the wind was blowing etc. However heading the ball was my weak point, I just never really enjoyed it. My best pal who was a top amateur centre half or centre forward, a sort of Chris Sutton style player, was a brilliant header of the ball. He wasn't particularly tall but he had a great spring, he could hang there, and he'd great control on his headers. Unfortunately he's got Parkinson's quite badly now and I wonder if the two are linked.
  4. Whoever was responsible for that signing should be back watching the under 11's.
  5. The minute Dack was injured it was patently obvious he was not going to kick another ball this. Why wasn't he replaced if only with a loan player ?
  6. Tell me somebody at Rovers that is enjoying the football at the moment ? Staff, players, fans - nobody has a smile on their face. At the moment everything about Blackburn Rovers is dull, drab, boring, tedious, uninspiring.
  7. We used to play " centring and heading " for hours at night. I did the centring so crossing a ball was second nature, my heading was crap though.
  8. Two stats there that are damning - falling behind for 8 consecutive games and failing to keep a clean sheet for 10 games. They are relegation style stats !
  9. Which woman was that ? Wasn't Dwight Yorke already here ?
  10. Me too. That was the moment I gave up on ever expecting to see Rovers as a major force again in my lifetime. I had a complete break from the club, football , this site etc. That was me done after the best part of 60 years.
  11. The ones that don't get in will be the lucky ones.
  12. How about a prediction for next season if Mowbray stays ?
  13. That tells me all I need to know about what Waggot knows about football.
  14. It's starting to look like Nyambe is going to be Raya Mk2.
  15. I could do a couple of games a week easily on my paper round money. Sometimes more. Rovers and Rochdale regularly. Any of Utd, City, Dingles, Bolton, Oldham, Bury on the bus now and again. My local rugby league team if it was against Saints, Wigan etc.
  16. To have one of the least effective players on the pitch as your captain is a mistake. That's not going to inspire anyone.
  17. He's not marrying your daughter, I'd have him instead of Mowbray tomorrow.
  18. I think next season would be a season too far for him. He's another who can go for me.
  19. Me too. Not Bothered anymore. Mowbray and his merry band of wasters have sucked all the interest out of the club for me.
  20. Holtby can go now for me, he's a show pony.
  21. I didn't watch 'the game. Just reading through the comments on here make me really glad I didn't. The manager is dog shit, the way we play is dogshit, most of the players the dogshit manager has signed are dogshit. I'm sick to my stomach of continually reading about this lot phoning a performance in. Have they no pride or self respect ? They'll all roll in tomorrow for " training " as though nothing has happened. At a real club the chairman would be waiting for the manager first thing in the morning with his cards already made out. I can't bear to listen any more of the bollocks that comes out of his mouth. He talks like he's just come along as a neutral observer. Why do we lack ideas and energy ? Why did we kept banging the ball up to their centre halves ? Get to the bloody touch line and tell them " The next one of you that does that again is coming off ! " Trouble with that is they'd probably be glad to come off. The wasters.
  22. Well we found out he's not a winger and he's not a centre forward. I wonder what he's like in goal ?
  23. Dyche plays the same 11 every week if he can. Whoever has to be brought in as a replacement the system stays the same. If you're going to play ale house football you definitely need two up front to chase down all the long balls. It seems to work for them.
  24. Our lot do their share of standing around also, that's part of the problem.
  25. It's the modern game matey. They'll be blowing up when the ball goes above shoulder height like they do in 4 a side soon. British football, which used be the most physical in Europe is now becoming the least physical. One thing that struck me in the last World Cup was that England players were going down appealing for free kicks that they would probably have got in the Prem but the foreign refs were just waving play on.
