  1. That Stella must be stronger than you think.
  2. Maybe but they didn't get dicked 5-2 at Brentford.
  3. Far be it for me to make excuses but you can go 2-0 up too soon in a game away from home. You're in a bit of a dilemma, do we keep going and get another or do we play it a bit cagey and hit them on the break. Your opponents can only play one way - go for goal. Anybody else at Maine Road about 20 years ago when we were 2-0 up after a similar amount of time only to lose 3-2 to a bloody David White hattrick ?
  4. I've had to come on in similar situations and what was going through my mind was _ " Well at least I can't do any worse than this lot ! "
  5. And on top of all that our Cricket team has rolled over like lambs out in the West Indies .The Dingles steal a point, Wales slutched a win last night ! Thank God for the Rugby Union lads.
  6. We needed three today to just get a draw.
  7. Well that's a first, I only go back 60 years but I can't ever remember us being 2-0 up after 10 mins and losing 5-2 ! High fives and happy selfies out on the piss don't equate to team spirit in my book. Rolling your sleeves and meeting fire with fire against physical teams does. Resilience in the face of adversity has been lacking at the club since at least the Big Sam era. None of our subsequent managers have been able to recreate the fighting spirit that Sam's team had to a good extent and Mark Hughes team had in spades. Cheer up guys I believe England beat Ireland so I'm going to watch it in a minute. Let's see some players putting their bodies on the line.
  8. Souey was a lunatic on the pitch in his day - pre massed TV cameras. Didn't he break a blokes jaw with an off the ball punch ?
  9. Yep, I'm sure the players realise they owe us for those two non performances.
  10. He needs to be giving him some game management lessons first. The lad want's to watch how Dack changes pace, slow your opponent down first then you can accelerate. Dack's about half as quick as Chapman but he regularly goes past opponents effortlessly. If you run directly at defenders they have to stand still. Of course you need to change direction at some point.
  11. I wasn't too impressed with the last minute 3 at the back against Newcastle. I knew we were stuck for bodies but I think Bennett-Nyambe-Lenihan-Bell as a 4 would have been a better bet. As it was we looked lost and only got into the game after about 1/2 hr and by then it was much too late.
  12. We should have been up for the Wigan and Preston away games but we were shambolic. I usually wait whilst after the game before I make my predictions. It seems to work better that way.
  13. Weren't we paying that to Rhodes back in the day ?
  14. Makes you wonder what would have happened if Matty had't have had that accident. Cole and Jansen was a good partnership. I know were lucky to have Jack financing the club but we were bloody unlucky with injuries in that period.
  15. Yeah that was a bit of a mystery. He'd be on mega bucks at Rovers I imagine.
  16. I agree with that, you could say they brought out the worst in each other.
  17. I thought Cole was a very good signing, until we replaced Jansen with Yorke. Once Souey teamed those two up it wasn't long before they were in a competition to see who could run the least.
  18. Well if Forest are prepared to " forget about the fee " I'm sure we will.
  19. It's not so much that he's " undroppable ", he's all we've got.
  20. What did we do with Kevin Davies ?
  21. We went into the window desperately needing a back up for Graham and we've come out of it desperately needing a back up for Graham. Short term signing or long term signing, we needed somebody just in case Graham gets crocked and for the last 20 minutes when he's run out of puff. Nuttall isn't the answer at this level. Samuel won't play again before the season is almost over. If he does he was barely good enough before, I can't see a serious injury making him a better player. As for the Six million dollar man, if he'd come up through our ranks he'd be off on loan to Stanley or Lincoln. To be honest I saw more footballing ability in Tomlinson and we've just released him. Well we are were we are. As other people have said we've let our sense of entitlement run away with us. We should have been happy with finishing out of the bottom three, maybe we've got altitude sickness being so high up the table. What surprises me is that our management team seem to be surprised that even bit part Premier League players are on big bucks ! I thought even the dogs in the street knew that. I don't know much about Assombalonga but from what I read he wasn't a like for like Graham replacement. Gallagher I've seen play and he definitely isn't. Austin would have fitted the bill more in that respect. I find it hard to believe that we seriously looked beyond these three, There must be players in the lower leagues capable of running around with a bit of purpose at the end of the game.
  22. That would have a great signing for us.
  23. He's been injured most of the time at Rochdale, he's hardly played for them.
  24. What's the problem with Charlie Boy ? I thought he was just unwell a few weeks back.
