I'm not a big Gallagher fan but he's better than what we've got as back up for Graham. Palmer I like the look of as a player but we have several players who could play in that position and we're very light in other positions. Good cover for Dack I suppose. The City lad I know nothing about, same applies to a mystery centre half. I can't see anyone taking Caddis off our hands, free or not. I'd loan the other two out. I'd also loan Whittingham if we could but again I can't see anyone talking him off our hands. Almost as bad a signing as Dack was a good one.

Fielding is out injured for the next three months apparently. So that's one down. If we get one of the other three I'd be surprised.
-
I agree with that. It made us look very foolish in the eyes of other clubs.

I'm a retired engineer so I'd say if the glass is half full they made the glass too big.

Talk is cheap. I'll be jumping up and down when we actually make some significant signings.

No point beating around the bush, the shirts are an embarrassment. When I first started watching Rovers it was a shirt to be really proud of wearing. Now I wouldn't creosote my fence in a free one. -
We need somebody with size and presence up front more than we need a Garner type. Speedie wasn't playing up there on his own.
-
Big Sam made some very shrewd signings for Bolton without breaking the bank.
-
I wouldn't be heartbroken, unless we're getting a striker with some size and strength for him to play off. If we can only have one we need a Graham mk2 not a Matt Derbyshire mk2.
-
I don't think we missed him as much as we might have done but that meant having to play Bennett there. Two good right backs there.
-
Bloody hell, he didn't take long to jump on the treatment bench.
-
I saw him play once and I could see something there. He's been injured ever since.
-
If we'd have had Dack and the Raya of last season I think we would have stayed up that season.
-
He was bought to play there in case Dack didn't shape up and he thinks he's better than Dack.
-
We've got Dack , Palmer and Gladwin who can all play in that role. Plus maybe one of the two new boys and Bennett at a pinch.
-
I agree. At least one is a must. Preferably before Saturday.

This isn't you being " soft " is it

I could see that's very true in the bit of film I saw on YouTube. He does run into people and not space and he has a tendency to try and beat a third man after he's already beaten two. But so did Matt Jansen when he came here at first. Souey sorted him out, let's hope Mowbray can sort this lad out. He's got more pure footballing ability than most at the club he needs to be taught it's a team game and a pass is quicker over the ground than any player running with the ball.

Clubs were the same in the old days of the maximum wage. You'd have blokes at a club for 10 years who'd played 8 games for the first team. The reserves and " A " team would be full of pro's. On £20 max a week per player they could afford to do it. Once that finished they all got shown the door.

He came from Ipswich Town although he later played for Halifax Town.
-
If the choice was a fit Armstrong or a fit Chapman I'd go for Chapman. It's the fitness issue that's the problem. I can see him being the sort of player that misses as many games as he plays as he gets older.
-
Time will tell but he looks to be a better player than Payne was. At least that's a plus.
-
Good signings usually equal good results.

Exactly. We've been Venkyed again.
