  1. I’ve got more ties than enough, honestly. Unfortunately the only one I wear now is the black one ! I probably won’t wear this one but it’s £20 to a good cause. If nobody else takes them let me know, I could probably afford another £20.
  2. I can’t see Pears being dropped in the circumstances. If the Hungarian lad had been back here training with us for the two weeks, maybe.
  3. I was born in Blackburn but we moved to Rochdale when I was 5. I grew up watching us in the 1960’s and because of that and where we were living the rivalry with us and the Red Rats was alway paramount for me. Most of my pals were Utd fans. Of course for years we very rarely played them but it was great when we did start playing them again, and beating them.
  4. Filan was a really good keeper. I’d have him back tomorrow if I could get my Time Machine working again.
  5. If you want to split them up Dee I’ll give you £20 for the third one from the left. The one with the football shirts on. I’ve got about 40 ties in my wardrobe but I haven’t got a Rovers tie.
  6. The only stat that matters = 1-1. How many games did we lose when Mowbray was here when we had way more of the ball than the opposition ? Just having the ball is meaningless, it’s what you do with it that counts.
  7. I used to think like that but the game has changed. The minute you get a top player the big clubs come in and snap them up. See Wharton or Sammi. They even take the decent ones like Raya, Kaminski, Hanley etc. You never get the chance to build a team. They’ll let you keep the Nyambe’s, Garrett’s Jack Vale’s. For a team in our position the way out of this league is the Luton way. Mainly seasoned pros playing basic football. We had our chance at footballing our way out of this division with the parachute money and we let a succession of managers blow it.
  8. I like a player who likes a tackle but I agree, in today’s football you get carded for tackles that wouldn’t even be a foul 25 years ago. The type of injuries has changed has result in my opinion. You hardly ever hear of players suffering a broken leg these days but cruciate injuries happen all the time.
  9. There’s definitely a player there for me.
  10. I stumbled across two replica New York Cosmos shirts on the rack in TKMaxx a few years ago. They were the “ Pele “ No 10 shirts, one home, one away. Luckily they were my size and I wear them out in Spain but I would have bought them anyway. You can argue about who was the second best ever, Maradona, Messi, Ronaldo, etc but he was the number one for me.
  11. You can put Bournemouth in that.
  12. I wouldn’t have immediately recognised him going off that photo. It doesn’t look like he’ll be back in football now. Get well soon Tony.
  13. Well on his way to becoming a fans favourite I’d say.
  14. More like Frankenstein’s monster.
  15. Somebody in JDT’s position can walk away at any time, so you’re right. But there will be legal consequences afterwards.
  16. I know it can be a problem but I like how he’s an aggressive player also. He wasn’t going to take a backward step on Saturday. They weren’t going to intimidate him. We’ve manage to recruit a few more players who are up for a scrap this time. It’s not just Travis any more.
  17. I saw them a few times then. Ex Rover Fred Else was in goal for them.
  18. He’s everything that Gally wasn’t. Let’s say you’re a centre half- who would you rather play against ? Him or Gally ?
  19. They appear quite similar in character. Not guys you’d want to get on the wrong side of.
  20. He blotted his copybook for me with that debacle at Burnley and he never really won me back over after that.
  21. Nooo, I know hit and hope when I see it. That was a masterpiece of technique.
  22. Probably - Cologne springs to my mind.
  23. The guy to his right in played him on. Argentina had some really good players but their discipline let them down badly that day.
