  1. From what I can see. Waggott is certainly accountable. Within the clubs own argument they stated that club officials being at the Birmingham game hindered the transfer. The response was that the club had the choice of whether officials were either at the game or on hand for transfers. - there is no hiding place for Waggott to escape some culpability in this Sylvester is accountable as it seems as though he really fannied around with the paperwork. The initial submission at 20:28 did not include a contract should the permanent option be triggered. This was the requested by the EFL at 20:47. The rules were clear and it seems the requirements for documentation were communicated early enough. I assume there was then a delay in him providing these and was taken off guard when further details were needed in those submissions. There is zero excuse on his part. Broughton was off wining and dining O'brien elsewhere during his medical. In a location that did not allow for any bumps in the road regarding paperwork to be quickly resolved. Personally i see him as less culpable but i think this does demonstrate a lack of experience on his part regarding big transfers and preparing for what could go wrong.
  2. Basically we argued that the 23:00 deadline is a hard deadline and if a club asks for an extension then we have until 23:15. We argued that 23:15 is not a hard deadline and should have leniency. The reason we argued this is because the 23:15 deadline is only stated in the guidance section of the EFL rulebook and not in the regulations section. To add to this Silvester attended a meeting whereby this was explained prior. We ended up submitting all relevant documents at 23:28 so 13 minutes past the extension. Any mention of relegation clauses were limited and seemingly hours before the deadline. We also argued we were disadvantaged because we had staff at the Birmingham game (Waggott), that we had less medical staff due to them being at the game (something which was in our control) and that the medical took place at the training ground whilst the club secretary was at the stadium (again within our control). Overall there's no bloody wonder the appeal failed. It was based on naff all and certain staff members have shown their incompetence.
  3. It's no coincidence that the only genuine nailed on starter that Sheffield United have playing tonight just so happens to be suspended on Saturday. Virus my arse.
  4. Slightly irritated that Sheffield United are playing the kids against Spurs tonight. They've made 8 changes. Maybe they're scared of us. But then again they're not going to experience what we did last night. Shoddy from their manager.
  5. It really shows how much of a mood change there has been around the club when I say HANDS OFF. We need to make sure JDT is backed and he truly sees actionable steps being taken towards the vision which initially brought him too the club. He's an ambitious manager so will consider what is best for his career. On a side note it's refreshing that someone is looking to poach him as it shows the good work that is being done at Rovers. Progress and success will always bring external interest. I'd rather this than us just bumbling on as we did under Mowbray.
  6. Proud to be a Rovers fan this morning. Not just because of the win, but how we went about it. We completely played Leicester off the park for much of the game. Its pretty rare you see a side in a lower division do this. Usually cup upsets lend themselves to bodies on the line, being physical and wanting it more. We taught Leicester a lesson for much of last night and then once they did pull one back, I was very impressed with how we defended to see the game out. Most their opportunities for an equaliser were half chances. We can safely say that last night epitomised what our club and motto are about. Arte et Labore. By skill and hard work.
  7. I believe the big lump was Danny Shittu. 6ft5 unit of a man. Its telling that that single game sticks out in so many minds given the sheer amount of dross that came both before and after. It really was the most clueless, bang your head against a brick wall game/tactics I've ever seen.
  8. If spending £400 + million isn't backing him then I don't know what is. Potter looks lost. I can't imagine it's easy balancing that squad but surely you'd be expecting better than what he's serving up at the moment. He looks exhausted. I've half a feeling he'd be quite happy to be paid off and have some time off right now.
  9. It appears JPvH never did sign that contract extension with Brighton in January so his deal is up at the end of the season. Though the offer is still on the table and they'd like him to stay. Wise from him in my opinion. He's given it 6 more months to try and break into their team, which it appears isn't going to happen. If we were to let Ayala go, bring in JPvH and loan out Phillips we'd be very well stocked at CB. Hyam, JPvH, Carter and Wharton. That's a beastly bunch of centre backs. With Brittain and JRC either side and Pickering as cover it's the best defense we'd have had in a decade.
  10. Interesting that there's no Leonard in that side. Maybe he's in line to be on the bench against Leicester?
  11. I went from being very arsed, to not arsed to being quite arsed again after our recent run of form. Until these 3 wins on the bounce I was of the opinion O'brien would be a great addition but we'd ultimately still fall short of the playoffs. Given the position we've worked ourselves into he really could be the extra 10% which sees us over the line.
  12. Essential we tie him down asap. Preferably before the summer. He's earnt it. Let's not dilly dally. I doubt he's on many other clubs radars yet.
  13. He was on a hat-trick as well. If he's not going to put his foot through the ball and be selfish when he has the chance to have his first ever senior hat-trick when is he ever going to do it.
  14. In terms of Wharton, we can all see he's a great footballer with massive potential. But it doesn't matter who it is, give it your all and pull your weight in training. That's the baseline you need hit to even be considered for the starting line up. It's not personal. Regarding Wharton it is all based on assumptions that this was the case, but I have no doubt that if he really gets the bit between his teeth in training he'll be back in the fold for the first team in no time, as the talent is clearly there. As an example Eric Ten Haag dropped Rashford a month back because he was late for training. He's the star and go too man. You have to have consistent rules that apply to every player. It wasn't personal, Rashford accepted it and came off the bench and scored the winner. Every player in that squad would know exactly what levels were expected. There are no favorites, everyone is the same and it does wonders for creating a proper team spirit, rather than the faux team spirit that Mowbray created where the team were a bunch of nice lads that he liked to take care of.
  15. It could be big, could be small. I imagine it's something along the lines that Jdt felt A.Wharton wasn't pulling his weight so he was left out. There's multiple examples of this under Jdt's short reign and the answer is the player needs to work hard. Once they do and they earn the shirt they'll be back in the fold. It's up to Adam. Work hard and he'll play. I don't believe Jdt is one to hold grudges. If Wharton knuckles down he'll be a better player for it.
  16. There are so many games that made me sick last year that I can't bear to go through them
  17. However we set up it will be huge having them both available. We all know we can be pretty impotent going forward at times. Some creativity and ability from both full backs will be a welcome step forwards and hopefully bring a bit more balance to the side. I thought it was striking on Sorba's debut that all of our attacking went down his flank. We were constantly feeding it into him. A big part of that was both JRC and Carter as the right centre back being more comfortable on the ball. My hope is that they both stay fit and it helps us stretch the pitch. They're both competent enough on the ball to retain it when stepping into midfield, creating overloads.
  18. I think the biggest thing for Qpr was lifting the negativity which had seeped into the club and get the players smiling/playing with confidence again. Ainsworth will certainly do that. They've had a tough season. After a mega start under Michael Beale, he flirted with Wolves for a while which seemed to derail them. He rejected Wolves released a statement about loyalty to the club who had given him his chance, only to jump ship a month later. Critchley has had a shocker and the whole club looked lost. They've got some quality players, but like us lacked a striker and brought in Chris Martin, whom I'd have liked us to sign once the window slammed shut. Both Ainsworth and the fans will be well up for it. I think we need to keep it tight and silence the crowd, then grow into the game.
  19. He's got good technique and he's excellent in tight spaces. He's probably our best player in terms of keeping the ball and he's got decent footballing intelligence. I'm not sure I see him as a wide player like some people do. I actually think one of his bigger weaknesses is beating a man one on one as he does lack pace. All they need to do is back off him and it's tough for him to beat them. My hope is that he develops into an Illias Chair type player. He can twist and turn, pull the strings centrally, and can shoot. His ability to hold the ball draws players into him. Its all about releasing it at the right time or creating space to shoot. As it stands, his development has been brilliant so far. He's still got a way to go, but on his current trajectory I see no reason why he won't develop into a really key player for us. Being a nice lad doesn't win games, however its worth mentioning, that he's a credit to himself and the club. Specifically the graft he puts and how well he speaks about mental health and his friend who passed away. I love that he's refused to let the memory of his friend die after his passing. Back to football. I hope he keeps grafting and keeps developing. Good player, good bloke.
  20. I actually think Qpr are a well run club these days. They were a shit show when Fernandes first came in. But these days they have some decent young players who've come through their first team and they seemed to have a pretty consistent plan. They were screwed over by Beale jumping ship to Rangers after only a few months in the job which left them in a bit of a panic. Critchley on paper seemed like an OK choice but he was terrible. Ainsworth is a surprising appointment in that his style is the opposite of what qpr have played for years. We'll see how they get on under him.
  21. Not the only difference maker that Brighton had but he absolutely destroyed us.
  22. This thread shows the influence @chaddyrovers has on brfcs. One word has triggered the strangest of tangents. (Not a dig at you Chadster. I've found it all quite amusing)
  23. I've emailed Steve Waggott with the suggestion. I'm not hopeful but if you don't ask, you don't get.
