  1. About 16,000 home fans blue, agree that its going to get worse looking at those next few fixtures...I just dont know where our goals are going to come from. Again a big plea to the Rovers board to back Hughes with hard coin come January.
  2. The game was lost due to a totally inept first half performance...the angry reaction from the Rovers crowd at half time was totally justified.Better second half but we must learn to be motivated from the start not just for 45 minutes!!! With injuries and suspensions Its all a bit of a mess really. Our next three games of Reading away,Arsenal away and Liverpool at home look like a mountain to climb right now.
  3. Are you sure about that? 'But the gap between the clubs who have huge financial backing is getting bigger so it will be more difficult for clubs such as Blackburn. 'But you just have to work hard with what you have got, and that improves you as a manager and a coach.' No use moaning about it Hughes, do the best you can with what you have like Big Sam at Bolton.....you knew the score when you took the managers job.
  4. So lets hypothetically fast forward to May 2007 and Rovers have won the Uefa cup but because of injuries and lack of quality signings in January they have taken the drop. That night in Glasgow was a marvellous occasion with 25,000 Rovers 'fans'(many having not stepped into Ewood park all season) partying the night away. For 3/4 of our following In reality,Its sadly a case of one final nostalgic bandwagon fling before the majority swear they were always supporters of Utd or Liverpool. First game back in the Chumpionship and Rovers have sold a mighty 6,000 season tickets.Drawn at home to the mighty Southend who expect at least half a coach of fans to travel to add to the expected 11,000 gate. The decision has been taken to relocate the away fans to the Jack walker lower and the whole of the Darwen end stand and BBE upper are to be closed for the majority of games to save money. Our super strikers Jeffers and Derbyshire claim in Fridays LET that they will fire us back in no time! Meanwhile, back in the Prem newly promoted Burnley play Man utd at home infront of 22,000. F!&K TO RELEGATION!!!!!!!!!!
  5. There can only be one sane answer to your question BEB. 'Get knocked out of the UEFA Cup in February and finish the season a creditable 13th in the Premiership' Our squad is simply not big enough as is clear for all to see.We have our pride back in Europe and have done ourselves justice this time....we can hold our heads high. The repercussions of relegation for Rovers would be horrible...I fear we wouldn't come back (if ever) to the top flight for a VERY long time. The Prem is our bread and butter without question, with no 'uncle Jack' to take the financial losses of relegation we could go from playing Man Utd to Macclesfield in next to no time.....a frightening prospect indeed given our current attendance problems.
  6. I fear I'm not far of the mark Stuwilky, too many Rovers fans still back in the Dam on their European jolleys!
  7. Many are calling for change, lets look at the present alternatives: McCarthy or Jeffers? Gallagher for Nonda? Pedersen or Peter? GREAT ISN'T IT.......AND YOU WONDER WHY WE ARE IN THE SH1T? Not enough quality, not enough squad strength in depth.Get the purse strings loosened come January Rovers or face the dire consequences.
  8. I'd settle for staying in the Prem.
  9. Oh christ!!! Hasta........KERRRCHHHHHHHH££££££££NNNNGGGGGGGG!
  10. God help us if we finish in the bottom half then.
  11. Remember those comments well. A Reading fans comments about 'MASSIVE' club Rovers attendances? Talking of massice clubs, I thought the Blackburn match on MOTD last week was a joke. You could hear teh players shouting at each other, as well as the sound of boot on leather. Even when Blackburn scored all I could catch was the sound of some polite applause. Acres of blue empty seats. Checking the papers Sunday, the crowd was c. 16.5k. And "established" prem clubs take the ###### out of our support!?!?!!? Until the likes of Portsmouth, Fulham, Watford et al get bigger grounds, we are, frankly, a "big" club as our average attendance in the Prem is very respectable. TALK ABOUT FULL OF IT!!!
  12. How does it feel being one of the four teams to have won the Prem? Very proud....money alone will not win you the Premiership, ask Liverpool, Newcastle, etc. Will we ever see a club like Rovers win it again in the current footballing climate? What do you think of Mark Hughes? Doing a great job, calmly spoken and goes about the task with minimum fuss. UEFA Cup – Heaven or Hell? Heaven. We are putting the wrongs of previous years to right this time and for a town club like Rovers to represent their country in the UEFA cup makes us very proud. Why has your season started so indifferently? Again it has to be injuries to key players...the sale of Bellamy has not helped. Who has performed above expectations for your team? And who not? Very hard to pinpoint a player who has perfomed above expectations in this side to date but theres quite a few who have not!.....Pedersen has been a massive let down this season. Why do you not sell out the ground? Small town and catchment area with expensive tickets in comparison to below average local wages. We also reside in a county with far too many football clubs....very partisan! What do you think of Reading? Impressed, have done very well to date and deserve their league position......very little history and tradition though. Score Prediction? 1-1 in a very close game Any finally - tell me some Interesting fact about your club? Blackburn Rovers......the most successful 'town club' in the Country. Our highest ever attendance at Ewood of 62,255 is bigger than Liverpool fc's record crowd
  13. Sickening to read this thread yet again, year after year we have the same complaints and nothing is done,we must be the only PREMIERSHIP club with a THIRD DIV merchandise store. The end of this Sportsworld franchise ###### cant come quick enough for me.
  14. The Addicks haven't won in ages and low and behold they are playing Rovers. 4-0 Charlton.....2 red cards for Rovers.
  15. Crap draw for both Rovers and Dingles.
  16. 'There is only one solution no matter how unpalatable to some it may be'. sorry but my last word on that subject..........NO piggin way. TOUCHE DROG!
  17. Theres nothing more the club can do IHB....its only going to get worse. The club must now be at a stage where they are losing money hand over fist everytime we play at home,at a guess the 'break even' mark is now being fallen well short of.Local folk seem to be finding plenty of other things to do when Rovers play at Ewood. People talk about the lack of away support hitting our gates but lets be honest here, less and less people are turning up to watch Rovers...the pride and passion seems to be fading fast.
  18. Well before my time Fife but the above figures seem like pure speculation to me.I've no doubt that maybe some opportunist players did do away with a few tickets but 15,000.....Give over!!!! I have no doubt the rumour mongers in and around the pubs of Blackburn at the time did more than their fare share of damage to club relations. The one result? It has to be 2004/05 cup semi-final with Arsenal....the press reaction to Rovers defeat was nothing more than a disgraceful attack on the club and its players.
  19. Cold comfort Wolverine,I do also believe there were Kids from local schools at Ewood today in the BBE upper and JW outer.....frightening attendance when you take that into consideration.
  20. A fixture against any Premierleague team would bore the shyte out of me personally.
  21. A good solid performance from the lads is what we all needed to lift spirits and they produced today,we won in second gear.Fulham must have produced a miracle to beat the Arse midweek!! 16,799.....our lowest Premiership crowd since our return under Souness.
  22. You've got to admit there's nothing quite like an East Lancs Derby!
