  1. I feel the problem is Den there is absolutely no guarantee these folk will show at Ewood,Im afraid many are simply lapsed supporters.....and its only £36 to sit in the Blackburn end for Everton and Chelsea.
  2. ....And still we wait for any news on numbers sold! This banning of Rovers matches could easily work against Rovers.
  3. Just get the boys in blue to batten charge the living daylights out of anyone watching in the pubs......... TOUGH PROBLEMS CALL FOR HARSH MEASURES!
  4. Great news about Rovers not being televised. Our first ever game in Europe was televised...the whole episode was shameful on and off the pitch.
  5. If I could have one wish this coming season it would be for Rovers to do themselves justice in this competition and be able to hold our heads high....to get to the final in Glasgow would be a night never to be forgotten. Judging by the Hughes mentality of previous domestic cup ties and the seriousness with which he fields his strongest side possible I feel confident we can undo the wrongs of years gone by.
  6. 2-1 Rovers. Benni and Gamst. 'Play up Pompey'...the second most lame chant ever concocted(our infamous 'GERRINTOEMMMM' takes the award) Somebody please shoot that b'strd with the bell!!
  7. Chelski top,Liverpool then Arsenal........Yaawn! Rovers 10th Watford,Reading and Fulham to say hell then wave goodbye
  8. Anywhere near half way line just infront of the stanchions and you'll be laughing Paul,I've sat there once or twice for cup games and never got wet.......... Ewood looks much better from the Riverside. Nice to see the cameraderie between our players is developing nicely, the whole team seemed to be enjoying themselves with smiles aplenty P.S. New Zealands No5 make Kuqi look like a dwarf!!
  9. Anyone else hear one or two stupid bar stewards booing Neill from the Blackburn end..didn't last long but christ talk about embarrassing
  10. Excellent workout and result that has cheered everyone up after some rather iffy pre season games. McCarthy and Roberts look very promising.....BRING ON THE NEW SEASON!!
  11. Sadly, I can offer no argument against your post Gav
  12. Rovers 2 leg of lamb 1 Att 30,200
  13. Yes, poor Noel died suddenly of a heart attack aged just 38. Bill Eckersleys testimonial was played infront of a crowd of 21,000+!!
  14. Some good news for a change then Den! Careful Aggy, stu will be adding you to his suicide celebration list!
  15. HA HA HA!!.....let us rejoice at the good news.
  16. The support will only decrease if prices continue to rise...there is no 'amen' about it Mr Buck!!
  17. Hillbilly rock..by the cast of Emmerdale!
  18. This is the crux of the matter, how long before the 'die-hard' gets fed up with the prices,we all have a cut off point financially. God help our attendances if we have a bad season... the sh1t will really hit the fan so to speak
  19. .....And then only four days later be expected to pull out another £100. Half a months wages gone on tickets to see football : UNREALISTIC, UNMANAGEABLE FOR ALMOST 1/3 OF OUR SUPPORT!!!
  20. The main problem we are faced with seems to be going completely over the heads of some people. We have a limited fanbase of support of whom most cannot be classed as 'affluent'.....Blackburn is not,East Lancashire on the whole is not and never has been.We have a small (11-12,000) group of season ticket holders. We ARE heavily reliant on the walk-ons who must average some 6-7,000 and who account for some 1/3 of our average home support. Can the club afford to see this group of support dwindle even futher because of £36 tickets?.....the answer must be a resounding and massive NO!!!. Listen to the people like Cletus etc on this thread who have decided to vote with their feet, how long before these people completely lose the Rovers bug and decide to find their entertainment somewhere else? it can happen and very quickly. Look after your own Rovers as there aint many of 'em. P.S I'll second the request for a poll to be added to this thread regarding the walk-ons and pricing, it would be VERY interesting indeed.
  21. A+ prices again four days later for the visit of chelsea.....bank loan anyone!
  22. That may be the case stuwilky but for how long will that 'hardcore' stay at 18,000 if prices continue to rise....I can only see one sad outcome,I hate to say this but perhaps the club really has outgrown the town on more than one level. To me its one vicious circle, we cant get enough fans in Ewood so they increase ticket prices ....thats the politics of the madhouse especially for matches against (with all due respect) unattractive opposition like Everton. Unfortunately even the die hards will have a financial cut off point.
  23. Dont forget, 4 days later your walk on fan will be asked to cough up again!!!
  24. We have one VERY big problem though Paul....its looking like we will only have around 11,000 season ticket holders after a very successful season so, using last seasons average gate, that roughly equates to 6-7,000 fans who buy matchday tickets. Is that fair to hit these fans hard when we need all the support we can muster?,surely the only possible outcome of this is decreased attendance from walk-ons thus smaller average crowds! Rovers are playing a dangerous game I fear,Cletus wont be alone.
