I think most Rovers fans will be aware of Colby Bishop, given he made his name in 3 successful seasons just down the road at Stanley.

This isn’t an East Lancs Forum. It’s a forum for fans of a football club. I’ve supported Rovers for over 60 years but have never lived in East Lancs. And if your tea cake has currents in it it will be out at sea by now.

I'm guessing that's because Saturday was unusual in that there wasn't a competing live Premier League match on TNT in the UK. The Rovers game was the "main" game here.

Eustace's first substitution may not have been great, but his second was excellent. As soon as the 3 came on we were able to slow down the flow of Cardiff's attacks which were looking like swamping us. It wasn't that they were any better than those that went off but more that they were 3 pairs of fresh legs. Cardiff were very lucky with the penalty - the shot was so bad that Pears was left having to push it out - he went a long way towards the post and had it been further into the corner he would have either caught it or pushed it wide.

Apparently Adam was at Ewood today. We could have done with him, even if he could only stand in the middle and pass the ball around.

That will work from Manchester Mark, but not from Preston as the fast trains don't stop there.

Clearly neither you nor I have any real idea how serious his injury is, but clearly it can't be that bad at the moment if he can play 88 minutes of a PL game. I suspect that no one is yet sure whether what he has are natural growing pains or something more serious.

Most of the trains that go the "slow" way via Birmingham stop at Watford Junction, but they take over 3 hours from Preston. The fast trains from Preston now don't stop at Watford, so you would have to go into Euston and come back. You could probably do that in a bit under 3 hours but with more hassle. Given the need to get everyone to Preston in the first place I doubt there is much in it between train and coach in this case.

Well he played almost the whole game today, Palace won and Adam almost scored.

From what I've seen in the last week we have played three times and won once, drawn once and lost once. The team performances have been an inverse of the result with last Saturday being the worst and today the best. Disclaimer - I wasn't at the game today and missed the first 20 minutes or so on TV.

I saw the first few minutes of PNE v Norwich and much the same there. North End 2-0 up and the goalie gave a penalty away and then let a Holmes shot straight through him.

I’m not sure if this has been picked up elsewhere but Wales play Montenegro on Monday night. Both Owen Beck and Osmajic are in their respective squads and Osmajic is not banned as it’s an International. I’ve no idea whether either is likely to actually play.

Osmajic is starting for North End against Watford tonight.

Presumably if he has until Monday to respond he will be able to play on Saturday? Should be interesting if he does, away at Millwall.

The lad has spent barely 30 minutes on the pitch in the first team, half of it when we were coasting 3-0 up. No fan should have any serious opinion on him one way or the other yet.

The issue on this is a technical one I believe in that ST holders can get the discount online but not in the shop.

I give up. If I could be arsed I could look back at countless times when Pears (or other goalkeepers) have been blamed for poor saves and particularly punches that we have got away with because they were not finished off. Suggesting any save is automatically good if there is no goal is frankly beyond parody.

That’s the whole point, it wasn’t a good save, he just got away with an airy push into the danger zone. .

I’m just imagining what you and others would have said if it had been Pears who had made that save and a North End player had hit our post.

That will be down to some old bloke with fat fingers writing the minutes I.e. me.

The one save he made was poor, presenting the ball to Dolan when he hit the post. On another day that’s 1-0 down.

How are Northern going to put on extra trains when they are currently cancelling large numbers of trains on Sundays because of a shortage of staff?
