I thought we had the balance perfect at the start of last year - Gueye starts the match then Ohashi comes on from the 70th minute onwards and nips in against tired legs. Somehow he's the starter now - I just don't see him do enough to warrant it (and I do actually like him as a player, but he's a Solskjaer).

He was always useful there - in the final third running at a FB who is on his heels. It's the rest of the stuff he's crap at - tracking back, holding the ball up, marking his man, running with his man, running in behind. Comfortably gave away more goals than he created last year.

It's only one in-swinging corner, but it was a good one. If that's his standard then he's worth a place on the team sheet just for that. As long as he continues working hard covering ground on the wing of course.

I gather he didn't disgrace himself on his debut. From what I've seen of his highlights he's quick, without being lightning and skillful enough. Think Emerton (obviously Bret was in a different class, but that kind of 'athletic wide player who gets up and down').

Or familiarity with how we want him to play. Last thing you want to do with a new signing is throw him in against a PL outfit and let him get murdered 'cos he doesn't know where he's playing.

Gueye for Ohashi, Kargbo for Hedges - is our strongest side I think.

That's how I categorise Leonard due to his lack of height / pace. He'll have to play as a 10 (pushing on past the CF) or as a hard working L/RW as a 'playmaker' type. He has good movement / a good feel for the game too - albeit I wish his finishing was better.
