  1. Now we know why Butterworth doesn't start. Fantastic impact, but he was out on his feet after 20 mins.
  2. Didn't rate him when he played against our U23s last year. Buckley is a much better player.
  3. You must have been watching a different game to me. I thought he was fantastic yesterday. Great engine, fantastic reading of the game and brilliant at breaking up their attacks. Second name on the team sheet for me, after our GK.
  4. "I didn't watch the game" but I'm going to have a pop at Brereton nethertheless. Gallagher was woeful today. Had the opportunity to put Nyambe and Brereton clean through and didn't. His second touch is a tackle - and this is coming from someone who thinks he deserved a run of games at CF. Brereton should have sealed the game at 2-1, but didn't. He's no saint today but he was a damn sight better than #9.
  5. Come to the game with a Burnley fan. His assessment: Mowbray has managed his way out of a win. So true.
  6. Chile are the villains in all this. We don't have the squad depth to lose a striker for three games. COVID-19 has put paid to our best laid plans. It is what it is. I'm sure the Chilean FA will be in Ben's ear about all this and encourage him to sign for another team in the summer, like the 'good guys' that they are.
  7. I see the fun summer distraction in Chile quickly soured. What a bunch of bastards, eh?
  8. The best bit about the entire thing is that Mowbray is loading up his team to play in a 4-3-3 (or variations of) and a 3-5-2 (or variations of). Unfortunately all these flighty wingers we're signing (on loan, mind) don't fit into a 3-5-2 and obviously you can't start all these CBs in a 4-3-3. You'd think a club on a shoestring budget would commit to a tactic / style of play and cut their cloth accordingly. Not Mowbray though - but to be fair he knows far too much about football to explain his thinking to us. Genius.
  9. Our owner(s) isn't that involved.
  10. What kind of scouting network do you need to be aware of Deeney? A Sky subscription?
  11. McBride has never played a professional game, Burns and Dolan are midgets and Chapman would get abused playing CF in this league.
  12. Anyone with any relationship with that scumbag can f' off.
  13. I'd let Pike go out - he prefers Carter at RB to him. Let him go get some game time against men.
  14. Haven't they scored 5 between them in the first month? So they're a quarter of the way there already to your target (they'll surpass it). We need an option off the bench upfront. We absolutely don't need a Rhodes - great at what he does, but can't move. Give me a big lump or a quick lad (or ideally someone that combines both!) to change things up / give Brereton and Gallagher a rest.
  15. Except a lad from another club won't be sat on our bench - the only time that happened with a loanee was with Branthwaite after he proved himself to be massively out of his depth.
  16. What we're really missing is an option upfront from the bench. Dolan doesn't have an end product (although he provides tremendous energy) and he's also 5'6". You either need tremendous pace or tremendous physicality coming off the bench to change the game - we have neither.
  17. Had a good game for me. Never in any real difficulty.
  18. I personally think Carter has done a fine job at RB. Obviously asking him to play RWB is a bridge too far.
  19. I swear people watch different games to me.
  20. And take the engine out of our midfield?
