  1. Cheap STs this time would just about keep us treading water… but if they actually have the brass neck to raise prices (which the FF minutes is hinting at), then Christ, it’s going to be calamitous - but let’s look at it from their point of view, think of the back of a fag packet arbitrary targets they have to hit!
  2. Will he meet the adds on before being flogged off in 18 months? Who knows. It was a piss poor price for one of the best young players in England, and it would’ve been considerably higher in a years time… but of course none of it particularly matters as the side won’t see any of it regardless, but it does ‘help the owners’ in not needing to fund their own business, so hooray!
  3. Indeed tomphil, tenner tickets are great to chuck in a couple of times a season - but cheap STs is what drives consistently higher crowds as you have the fan in the tent throughout not just dipping in for a game or two.
  4. There won’t ever be one, but if we were left with an empty ground, what would it change? We’ve gone from c20,000 ST holders when they bought the club to probably c6/7,000 next season, so 13,000 lost fans, sponsorship and gate receipts have collapsed, they haven’t batted an eyelid. So why would losing an another 6k ST holders bother them? They couldn’t give a flying fuck.
  5. Didn’t say we would have got 40/50, course not. But 18, they had our pants down - and why wouldn’t they, we were a distressed seller.
  6. £18 million and yes - Palace will be selling him for £40/£50 million in 18 months.
  7. What happened to working at Hearts? Bit of a comedown Barrow for such an astute lad, invented the ‘double pivot’, didn’t he?
  8. Well they took the ‘wrong’ price for AW as soon as they could so who knows what price they’ll be happy with to bundle Sammy out the door…
  9. To be fair to you, Chadster there’s certainly no arguments from your side these days that the commercial side of this club is anything but ridiculously poor.
  10. Can’t believe that Joe fella who used to post on here got a job in football and you still haven’t!
  11. Bolton ‘don’t know what league they are going to be in’ either … but they’ve still been on sale since February and they’ve sold 16,000 already.
  12. Most round me were all ‘see you next season’, as was my father in law who comes over from Lytham and he has wavered in the past. Obviously this place we are forensic observers of the club and aghast with it all, but there probably won’t be mass non renewals as many just want to watch a game every fortnight and will just renew out of habit - the owners/‘leaders’ of this club are bloody lucky the majority of football fans are like that as they certainly don’t deserve such loyalty.
  13. End of the day a lot of footballers are immature lads who’ve been coddled through the academy system (again in contrast to Sammy who’s scrapped his way up the leagues). Mogga would have the balance right behind the scenes you’d wager between giving them leeway and an arm round, and when it’s time to get in line. Then there’s JDT who seemingly had standards that were too high for this bunch of weak mediocrities, so rebelled against it as soon as they could - whereas this new fella doesn’t seem exude much in the way of presence or authority.
  14. Obviously Sammie just cracks on and gives his all regardless of ‘the noise’ but interesting that he alludes to the ‘negativity’ of journalists, we only really have one that reports on Rovers and he’s not exactly The Sun going after ‘Turnip Taylor’ c1993. If young Elliot is seen as some negative force it gives further insights to their mindset behind the scenes and just shows how weak and unwilling to face any kind of criticism this crop of players are (which we know already from their comments in ‘the meeting’, oh, and their performances).
  15. Proposing ‘crowd funding’ standard stadium works, I.e seating. The brass neck of them.
  16. But think of all the lovely savings on cleaning and maintenance, the fact you could lose long standing ST holders will be an afterthought, just like it was with the Darwen End and Blackburn End Upper closures.
  17. Bit salty that, K-Hod. It was a genuine question to how the execs frame their answer, so how do Swag et al respond to the why are they still here question?
  18. He’s partly right Cov are as an example. They sold their star man last summer and then re-invested in players… soooo in what way is that comparable to here?
  19. If it is another ‘freeze’, or some pitiful ‘reduction’, or even an increase, then do the WATR leadership on here think you’ve not been treated in good faith and they are just paying lip service to you as fan groups? And if so where does that leave the relationship?
  20. ‘The owners are fully committed to the club’ standard boilerplate we’ve heard about 10,000 times… does nobody in these sessions, be it WATR, FF ever simply ask ‘Why?’
  21. Another club that gets very lucky due to geography. Only takes a bit of ‘success’ and crowds can double. Alas, cannot and will not happen here for many reasons
  22. You never get the feeling that the likes of this Read lad have the remotest feel of what makes the Rovers fanbase tick, how you engage, what drives ticket sales. A mile out of his depth.
  23. As we know they never refuse to sign a cheque, so looking forward to that summer warchest.
