That’s Stanley selling it, not Sodexho. -

Might be one of their biggest crowds this season, as much smaller away followings in L2 compared to L1 as they’ll have noticed last season. No Bradford filling two stands either… bet Oldham fetch plenty there though. -
‘I mean it’s been since 1992 that they’ve been moving Saudi league fixtures so they can behead people on the pitch, so get over it’… wait, hang on, think I’ve mixed that up with something else, so much hypocrisy, I get confused.
-
There you go. I admire it to be fair… all without media training too.
-
As always, you are being the politician and not answering the question asked. Nobody is saying Sky should have had a load of razzmatazz about it on SSN. So we’ll ask again; why would it be disrespectful for the EFL to publish a list of fixtures on their website? (please answer that very specific question and not deflect going on about Sky, how impatient Matty couldn’t wait a day or whatever else)
-
You didn’t, but thanks for joining us, minister.
-
Already told you, Matty wasn’t arsed either way, I was merely curious to why it was disrespectful to post some fixtures on the EFL website, so asking what I thought was a fairly simple question - you have chosen not to answer, but instead, as always, you deflect and start going on about something else entirely. Tell you what, you’d fit right in as a guest on the Sunday politics shows.
-
Try again. Why would it be disrespectful to publish some fixtures on the EFL website?

Just his standard forelock tugging to authority. If the EFL had published them on their website he wouldn’t have said a thing about ‘disrespect’.
-
No Matty really couldn’t have given a feck either way, I’m just asking for an explanation to why listing fixtures on a website is disrespectful.
-
Why would showing a list of fixtures on the EFL website have been disrespectful to Jota?
-
But anyway. Just Hull away moved until the end of September (still Saturday 23rd August, but now 12.30pm). Got off lightly there… or Sky have no expectations of us doing much.
-
Some massive splash of ‘look at all these games and they’re LIVVEEEE exclusively on Sky Sports’, no, maybe not appropriate. But a simple printed list on the EFLs website to help folk prepare travel etc (and keeping to their own stated obligations) doesn’t seem a particularly insensitive thing to do.
-
Not sure how a simple list of fixtures on a website shows disrespect to Jota, but fair enough.

…so already missed a notification deadline then 👏

A ‘boycott’ means you are withdrawing your support/your money in principle against something and when your terms are met, you return. There is no boycott of any note here as the vast majority of the 10,000 that walked away between 2010 and 2012 won’t ever be buying a ST again regardless of who’s name is on the door, they’ve gone. Has that had an effect on gates? Of course it bloody has, we’ve never recovered, just look at the place on a match day, couple that with a decade without even a single play off campaign and ever increasing prices and it’s no wonder we’ve been bouncing between 8k and 10k STs for over a decade. The point I’m making (that you are ignoring and just repeating your own in classic M_B style) is despite all that, a lot of water has passed under the bridge, some enticing pricing on the back of a a bit of success, some ambition in the transfer market and, yes, a promotion, and crowds would rocket, no question - but like I also said as none of that will happen, there will be no rocket and we stay in the post 2012 doldrums rattling around Ewood for ever more.
-
It’s an obscure messsge board with a handful of folk coming out with that stuff, means bugger all. But yes, if you went to any club forum with terrible owners of course you’d read such things. It means bugger all as most fans aren’t the obsessives you see on message boards. They just see a middling, poorly run second division club with dear tickets and they swerve it. Get it right on the pitch (especially with decent pricing) and they won’t be able to get on the ticket site quick enough… and the fact a half dozen folk on here were going on about boycotts would mean what exactly?
-
We can compare as there’s no mass boycott and there never has been. (a dozen folk on here does not a boycott make). What did happen is c10k walked away between 2010 and 2012, most of them have gone, full stop, regardless of owners. However, that was a generation ago, we get it right on the pitch, along with sensible pricing and crowds will grow exponentially… but we won’t do either of those things, so they won’t.

Don’t need pro players or head coach… definitely need a ‘Head of Women’s Football’ though. -
I’m talking theoretically. However, you are conflating a few dozen folk on here with real life. We somehow ended up in the PL with ST prices around what we had in the Taking Back Ewood era and crowds would be huge again. There is no mass ‘boycott’ and there never has been. But we won’t end up in the PL and we won’t see those prices so c9k it is.
-
If STs don’t matter why did we have our highest crowds for a decade in the ‘Taking Back Ewood’ era? We were a mid table side yet had crowds comparable or higher than those in the 90s. 20,000 ST holders is why creating that base.
-
For big games in the run in, of course, but won’t be the case week to week as you just aren’t getting enough walk-ons at up to 30 quid a ticket to have decent gates every week even if the side is doing well - it’s why STs are so important as it’s a guaranteed attendance for every game, so the higher the initial base the better. Bolton are a prime example of that, stuck in the third division but c20,000 there for every run of the mill game. Why? 15,000 ST holders.
