  1. At least these other clubs have had a chase of said dream before they end up with possible insolvency statements in the accounts.
  2. My gut feeling right now? No. With the club at such a low ebb, I doubt we’d sell substantially more than we have now. Reductions ideally need to take place when there’s a bit of momentum around the place (or you’re in the PL and they’ll sell like hot cakes as per c2009). Last summer after a decent season in league and cup would have been the time. This summer, good luck trying to flog good numbers at any price.
  3. Interesting ideas, and I’d have no issue in the club trying any of them - but none of those would move the dial anywhere close to a simple reduction in ST prices, as STs make up a substantial majority of our bums on seats and crowds ebb and flow on the back of the numbers sold.
  4. And what is this dynamic, out of the box pricing if it isn’t a reduction?
  5. 1st August, Sammie’s sold for £8million and a Raya slice too (putting AW’s fee to one side) and it will be all ‘now we can buy a keeper, a striker and a winger - it’s called being a trading club’ September 1st, net spend of (minus) £10million , minus £30million in two windows - ‘err what did you expect! You do know there’s this thing called FFP and we’ve no money because of our shit support.’ Where’s that pillow to scream into.
  6. ‘Material uncertainty exists that may cast doubt on the company’s ability to continue as a going concern’ Well, there it is in black and white. 14 years into their destruction and the accounts state that there is a material threat of insolvency.
  7. So minimum £6million, could be more. Going to be a good summer. Looking forward to it.
  8. Of course only some fans realised this. Plenty of others thought he was ‘negative’ and ‘toxic’.
  9. No you said 6, plus a percentage of any sales - so presumably a couple of million from Sammie and any other sales. 8 million quid, bloody hell 🤦‍♂️
  10. Be honest, do you actually think we’ll spend £8million this summer?
  11. I suppose this summer has at least avoided the farce of no Test cricket post July like last year - an Ashes summer too. Ridiculous organisation.
  12. Yeah went to see Dune 2 on the new IMAX in Blackpool. Spectacular in that format.
  13. Yes there’s an odd view by plenty on here to get shut of every player that isn’t in the first XI. One, it’s a squad game, now more than ever with five subs and two, they are only ever replaced with loans or ‘potential’.
  14. Yeah I’m not really buying all this ‘yes man’ stuff. JDT was an outlier in the way he just didn’t give a feck and went after whoever he pleased - and I loved him for it. But most people in football toe the line as they want to remain employable as it’s a very small, who you know industry, so by that barometer 99% of folk in the game are ‘yes men’, so you best get used to it.
  15. End of the day incubation periods taking years is what we have to live with when ‘potential’ makes up a big chunk of our signings. O’Riordan the latest example.
  16. Good grief. Yes, the club has generated money, however that cash can now fund day to day operations instead of the owners needing to - it’s not going to be used for £8million’s worth of players coming in.
  17. You don’t think there may be a fair few more issues at the club financially than two summers ago?
  18. It’s always an interesting ‘what if? They are certainly huge clubs who are obviously bigger than most of the PL, however it is getting harder to compete at the top end from a low starting point as Newcastle are finding even with an oil state’s billions behind them.
  19. Well most of us do, obviously somebody still doesn’t.
  20. Most Old Firm fans know they are miles off competing in the Premier League. Being the saddo that I am I like have a read of their forums after their latest chastening defeat in Europe and they are always lamenting how far away they are.
  21. If we can draw our way to safety then great. But if we do go down it will be too many draws that will have done it under JE. (I’m talking about JE’s reign and what he could influence, I’m aware that the wheels had come off with JDT and he also would take some blame).
  22. £6million plus part of any sales? So, say £8 million minimum? Get real.
  23. Not sure if the ‘negative’ jibe is aimed at me as I enjoyed the game. My point was in response to those that decry the quality up there, it’s simple economics as to why when a club like, say, Rotherham, will be earning more in TV revenue than Rangers.
