  1. So Martin Tyler goes… brfcs ahead of the curve yet again 👌 (well apart from one poster).
  2. Interesting approach to marking there 😁
  3. Not quite as simple as that. If these lads and I’m talking teens and up don’t even see themselves as Rovers fans, the fact a second division ST is £375 instead of £275 doesn’t really come into it. The reason most of us are Rovers fans is because it was passed down by family, it’s a generational thing. Asian families as a rule don’t have that, so it has to be a different approach, I.e getting them young through the Ewood Express etc. Now if a 7 year old kid enjoys his match days down Ewood and does see himself as a Rovers fan then the price is an issue as I imagine suddenly asking to go with his family at these prices would be a little bit of a sticking point.
  4. Think you over thinking it, he’s obviously just giving players a game as it’s already won.
  5. It’s been like that now for 30 years, dinosaur! Don’t you know the clubs enjoy the money and coverage!
  6. Just standard stuff against minnows. Just go through the motions, no need to over exert themselves as they will still comfortably control and win the game.
  7. You do make me laugh. All this money and the mess it makes is fine in English football as you like watching it on Sky. But as you don’t have BT, all the money in European football is *terrible*. 😁
  8. I can kind of understand it when they’ve bowled seam all day, but 29 overs of spin and still 8 short. Ridiculous.
  9. Pretty much. So they could have two goes at the opening batsmen with the new ball. Quick half hour burst tonight, where they could’ve prised out one or even two of them - then another go in the morning as the batsmen try and play themselves in again. Age old tactic… but normally it’s with about 500/550 on the board at that stage of day 2… not with 390 on day 1! It’s BazBall baby! 😁
  10. I would say football is far bigger with young Asian lads these days than cricket. Big change on that front over the past couple of decades… unfortunately it’s still a very small percentage that support Rovers.
  11. They did have Championship games at half 5 when BT had that PL time slot. End of the day Championship coverage has to just jump around to fill PL gaps on Sky.
  12. The forum is yours, roverandout!
  13. The only reason Sky have a 12.30 Championship game is just to fill a hole in their schedule as BT (TNT) have that PL slot.
  14. They’ve Liverpool at home on Boxing Day… must be a big fan to have not heard about that!
  15. Yeah but even with a busy ground PNE probably won’t make much more revenue than us, so who cares about near 20,000 empty seats! (Think of how few stewards we’ll need too!)
  16. To be fair, not sure an unknown fella signed on a free from Holland was ever going to move the dial much…
  17. All the hand wringing on the transfer thread about lack of rumours, and just like Ennis he comes in without a single mention… might as well lock it 😁
  18. ‘Big 6’ (plus Newcastle) live - who’d have guessed…
  19. I never buy food and drink at any football ground, so I can see Chaddy’s point. For me personally it is all about the game and being amongst my fellow Rovers fans, the highs and lows of those 90 minutes - THAT’S my ‘match day experience’. Obviously plenty of others do want a pie and a pint as one look at the concourse from about 2.30pm until after half time tells you - so of course the offering needs to be vastly improved, for professional pride, for offering a service to those paying good money and yes, increasing revenues. But I don’t think ‘well just watch it at home then’ is the response just because you don’t partake in food or drink there, or couldn’t care less about half time ‘entertainment’. Winning football and/or a good price is what gets people to Ewood, the rest is neither here nor there in the grand scheme of things.
  20. Burnley are at home on the 4th May, so we’ll be away last game presuming 4th May is the last game of the season in the Championship.
  21. Well obviously, but a Lancs CCC owned one.
  22. Think so. Cardiff, August 2014. Which is really odd considering we are on A LOT, and Sky pretty much always show a Friday Championship game.
  23. Nah, Sky don’t do Friday night games at Ewood… just every other possible time and day you can think of!
