Rovers fixtures 23/24
Mattyblue replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Depends where we are in the league, the top 2 pretty much running away with it meant they kept looking elsewhere for live games - and guess who were always in that top 6! Need to do a Coventry, stay under the radar and sneak in right at the end. -

Doesn’t matter how long you’ve been a fan, still always feels like Christmas morning! -
I’d recommend joining their Facebook group and asking that way. I think this was their email address fairly recently - rogerox53@btinternet.com
-
Have you joined the London Branch? Good numbers of them are always at south east away games.
-
Far better atmosphere than Wembley England games I’ve read a fair bit this week… so think yourself lucky!
-
They really weren’t up to about twenty years ago. The disintegration of the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia into twenty odd states, plus giving status to the likes of Gibraltar has brought in a plethora of mostly average to poor teams now filling up groups whilst at the same time expanding the tournaments - as an example there were 8 teams at Euro 92, but 24 at Euro 2016, so of course it’s far easier to qualify.

As well as being a legend here! Yet yon mon is banging on about his media career… which part of his career might be a little bit more relevant to us Rovers fans do we reckon?

The fact that they had Cardiff up here on New Year’s Day says it all about where fans fit in with the EFL (and that’s before Sky made it an even more ridiculous fixture). -
Not sure that’s miles, but ahead all the same - though not necessarily comparing apples and apples as it was an earlier end to the early bird this time. We had 8,779 sold last summer which feels to me a similar figure to what we’ll have this time too (we actually finished with 9,300 including half ST holders), alas treading water is the best it will be at these prices, even on the back of our best league position in a decade.

I don’t need to have a medical degree to know humans have bones, when do I get my own surgery?

23/24 kit; is a new sponsor needed?

Like I was saying to you yesterday Alex this club could and should be doing so much better. Just get that lazy time server potted for Christ sake. -
Birdy will be getting there by hiking through the Alps…

£100k?! For a club that’s spent two years knocking on the door of the Premier League, cup runs, a club never off TV?! And I was told it was just ticketing that wasn’t fit for purpose down there… -
The Euros are now ridiculously easy to qualify for for the bigger nations, top two straight through and then play offs for even more spots.
-
To be fair he had arrived at the club literally days earlier, first new manager for about 17 years, so of course it was going to be the JDT show last time.
-
Didn’t used to be, was always a bit of jeopardy re qualification, probably until about ten years ago, complete stroll these days obviously.
-
He had a stroll about against far inferior players. See how he does against quality teams.

Who said we should have a deal Leeds’ size? -

So we can’t get a good deal because we have an average crowd in our local area of 14,000 not c20,000 - but being shown nationwide on TV every other week with c150,000/200,000 watching still doesn’t impact what we could get at all? Ok. -

Somebody said before that ‘if they weren’t vaping they’d be smoking’. Not sure about that, smoking was always very much a minority pastime in schools in recent years, vaping seems to have exploded in popularity - the packaging, the TikTok influencer advertising etc is obviously a big part of that. -

Yes relative to the division, what else would it be relative to? -
Famous last words again, roverandout 😁

Surely the fact we were on TV considerably more than any other club in the division IS a strong bargaining chip, one that would help to negate being a few thousand down on some clubs in the actual ground, no?
