  1. Was still a cracking night out into the 2000s, then very quickly fell off a cliff.
  2. Does it not? ‘Kin ‘ell! Club Trop it is then, that’s still going, right?
  3. Well obviously it’s cost. If they don’t want to fund a new pitch or to prevent the Riverside falling into the River Darwen then fine, it’s their club, but then don’t parrot a line that it’s only FFP limits preventing them putting more in. They obviously have a limit they *want* to put in and that’s fair enough, obviously the academy/keeping the bills paid comes first, but let’s not pretend it’s that pesky FFP stopping them firing us to the promised land.
  4. Any reason they don’t fund things not impacted by FFP, I.e a crap pitch and an infrastructure falling to bits? I mean it’s the ‘decent thing to do’, no?
  5. I’ll have a couple in Toffs and then I’m heading to Jazzy’s…
  6. Of course it’s how it’s been for thirty years now. But never have we seen anything like this as a second tier club who haven’t even threatened the top 2. I think this summer’s renewals are unique, no particular issue with the club/team/manager, a slight reduction in price too - just hard headed financial decisions being made when bizarrely pretty much every home game has been available on Sky since December.
  7. Yep pretty obvious K-Hod (unless you’ve drank the Kool-Aid on offer in the Ewood offices, that is).
  8. FFS 🙄 Should’ve guessed. Right here goes, nobody is being remotely ‘negative’ about the club if the issue they have is not being able to make a shed load of games. It’s of course not the fault of BRFC, but people will obviously make decisions in if it’s worth their while before shelling out £375 -£500. But good to hear that I’ve run into the only dozen or so folk in the whole fanbase thinking of not renewing… what are the odds!
  9. Well when you ask *checks notes* James Corden for advice on who to appoint…
  10. I always go for the spicy purchase option.
  11. Totally anecdotal, of course, but I’ve lost count in recent weeks from the amount of ST holders I’ve spoken to that are 50/50 about renewing. Not because of the team, the club, the manager, the price, you know standard stuff for a potential non renewer. But purely due to the amount of moved games. It will be very frustrating if a club that finally seems to be on the up still can’t move it’s gates on due to the absolutely ridiculous amount of non 3pm Saturday matches. Anyone else picking up anything similar?
  12. Ewood is no different than most other Championship grounds.
  13. Well, it’s certainly a view.
  14. Totally ignored my ‘it depends’ rationale and gone off on a tangent, I see. It’s a big game for Blackburn Rovers and if you are someone with a history of purchasing Blackburn Rovers tickets (see tickets, plural, not just a singular Burnley game from a BB10 address in 2016 etc and not seen since) you should be allowed to buy one, end of story.
  15. End of the day it’s the ‘Premier League 2 Cup’, a fairly recently made up competition to give a bit of variety to U21/reserve football. It’s not a prestigious competition going back to the early 1950s like the FA Youth Cup, so who gives a toss if JDT is utilising it like he already has been doing for PL2 league matches? If we end up in the *actual* PL, then this policy of keeping all the first team squad match fit will have been a masterstroke.
  16. Long stopped being surprised with the commercial operation down there…
  17. Oxford was 5 years ago, so not exactly recent. Of course question folk, just not a flat no if they are on the database but just haven’t been for a while. This is exactly the kind of game that might interest a lapsed Rovers fan, so we should be turning them away with swathes of empty seats to fill?
  18. “Well done, they’re thirteen”
  19. Depends doesn’t it. If the last time they went was another Burnley game in say 2016, they have a BB10 postcode and they ain’t been seen since then yes grounds for suspicion. If it was some fella from Darwen, who last went to, say, Oxford, then perhaps they just see this as the massive game it is and they fancy going - it would be some foresight you wouldn’t expect from a Dingle to have bought a ticket for a Rovers promotion game in 2018 on the off chance it would help them get a ticket for a derby in 2023! It’s a big game, so it is the exact kind of fixture you should expect lapsed fans to have their interests piqued for, so every potential purchase should be judged on its merits, not a blanket ‘well you ain’t been for a while, you must be a Burnley fan then, so sod off’.
  20. What pubs are they?
  21. Unfortunately as rational as all that is, players are often badly advised and make bad footballing decisions due to their ‘representatives’ who obviously purely want a bigger slice of a bigger pie, wherever that is.
  22. Yeah thought you would think so 🙄 So it’s ‘common sense’ to turn down everyone *on* the database that hasn’t been for a while? Give over. With only 2k away support, £30-£35, midweek and Sky, there’s enough obstacles in getting in a decent crowd without putting up anymore. Anyone would think the club wanted a half empty ground…
  23. Pretty sure anything under PL level is invisible to radar…
  24. He won 4 in 14 last season, with them already five points clear when he was appointed. Not exactly a wonder spell, was it.
