  1. BP is Player liaison, no? Is that not the role in which they have to babysit the man-children that are pro footballers? I.e changing a lightbulb for Travis at 2am etc?
  2. In this age of squad numbers it’s now all about the old 1-11. ’He’s a false 9’, ‘We need to sign a number 10’, he’s a ‘typical 8... so he’s wearing 66, because?
  3. Take it we don’t have a loan liaison officer like every other professional football club?
  4. Read in a few places that Man Utd lost on Wednesday because Villarreal implemented this seemingly innovative new approach called ‘the low block’. What is this revolutionary tactic , I wondered... ’ The low block is a defensive system where the players defend very deep in their own territory and restrict the space for opposition players to exploit. Oh I see, it’s actually the age old ‘get every man behind the ball’, ‘two banks of four’, etc etc. Snake oil salesman regurgitating us stuff we’ve seen time and again - helps Michael Cox/Jonathan Wilson et al flog a load of books though 😒
  5. They just don’t push the boat out for the role that is by far the most important at a football club, taking the cheap, but ultimately false economy route each time. Yet they never have any issues paying top dollar for incompetent Chief Execs that achieve the square route of feck all. Go figure.
  6. Red and black plus yellow with blue trim as Rovers God tier away shirts? Nailed it.
  7. And the majority of the remaining engaged support will lap up the dumbed down expectations. If TM states mere ‘survival is the aim’, ‘we can’t compete’, ‘parachutes’ etc etc, then that will also become gospel with the fans and a 20th placed finish and a new contract for 2022 onwards will be just nodded through and the recalibration of the image of Blackburn Rovers as a club lucky to just be in the second division is complete.
  8. A sell out? Of what allocation? We’ve not sold out in the league there for years. And even in the PL days we didn’t usually take many to friendlies. As an example, we’d often play at Deepdale and only take a thousand or so. Similar at Accy. Get your point about being post lockdowns, but there is still a big malaise around the club... now Fylde, as a new ground, I’d imagine will generate more interest...
  9. In the midst of that latest horror run, he gave the impression of having given up and waiting for the payoff, as is normal in football. I imagine now he realises (if he didn’t already) that he is bulletproof, the ego will be out of control next season.
  10. It’s his new posting style, I’ve noticed. Our very own Cicero.
  11. Best get them contract negotiations started ASAP...
  12. Watching that video, now that was a team... and some posters thought this present shower were also in the frame for automatic promotion this season 🙄
  13. I’d say the opposite is true. I hear that well worn line now more than ever.
  14. We haven’t ‘significantly improved’ then, as we are talking about a first team not a development squad. And saying so is just daft (though I’m sure there is bundles of similar stuff going to Pune from the analysts at Brockhall with TM/SW seals of approval, so it’s obviously luddites like me, who gauge improvement of a football team by points and wins, that have it wrong)
  15. He and his contributors certainly have put the graft in, and fair play to anybody that is still engaged enough with this shell of a club to put something like that together... but on his actual views, isn’t he the bloke that said the other week ‘by every measure we’ve significantly improved this season’?
  16. Because the owners aren’t particularly interested in promotion (or the club at all)?
  17. So he did, 6. Ok, best paid player to only play half or dozen games or less in the PL? 😅
