Kit supplier and sponsor from 21/22
Mattyblue replied to alex l's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It’s my opinion! I personally like the classic Rovers away shirt colours. It gives the club an identity, just like the home shirt always has. Liking one thing more than another is what we humans do. Be it a type of food, a type of beer, a type of music, whatever. So please refrain from all this ‘negative’ stuff please. -

For me red and black halves, yellow with blue trim are some of the quintessential Rovers away shirts, simple as that. So as result I thought last season’s shirts were great, and therefore I don’t think this season’s will measure up. It’s called having an opinion and there is nothing remotely ‘negative’ about that view, so please bore off with that tripe. -
‘Quantum’, ‘average yield’. Can you imagine JW talking to the local paper like that, still the main organ of communication with much of the fanbase? What a bloody plonker.

Last summer saw us sell 6,995 STs at £399 to £500, and they kept prices the same for this summer (and increased by £30 for non existing ST holders), we will probably sell c8.5k this time, so an undoubted success in Waggott World, so from his perspective, not ours, why would he reduce?

Of course folk on here would’ve kicked off, so what? Didn’t realise brfcs posters managed the club’s budgets. -
Even in the Riverside it works out at £17/£18 a game, so no chance the club are going to offer £20 match tickets each week, especially when a good number of games will have a load of away fans to fleece.

Two cracking change shirts last season, classic Rovers away kits. No chance they will match up this time. -

They might as well not bother calling one of them a ‘third kit’, as we wore the nominal ‘third’, the yellow, more than the red and black last season. -
2022/2023 Pre Season Thread

I’m sure we did something similar a few years back, away at Morecambe or Fleetwood, from memory -
Whatever floats your boat, I’m just explaining how the club would justify not pricing tickets at £20 each week.
-
Not in the JWU, so it would literally be cheaper to buy tickets each week.
-
Oh yeah can see how, the Sheff Utd offer, Bournemouth offer, the bundles, night games all reduced to £20. A £400 to £500+ , a ST quickly becomes not particularly good value over match tickets, which never used to the case.
-
From memory they get 5k due to the amount of coaches they can fit on the DEnd car park.
-
They won’t charge that because it will undercut ST prices. It would actually be cheaper to buy a ticket each week in the JWU than a ST. That’s the problem you create when you price STs so high to start with, very little wiggle room for match day prices.

The Ryan Nyambe Appreciation Thread

Usual story when they leave. ’Crap anyway’, ‘greedy’, ‘move on’, ‘better out there’. All maybe true to some extent, but unless the ‘better out there’ end up here, we regress. -
Think he’s getting carried away there, Fratton Park’s total capacity is less than that at the moment (they are renovating one of the stands) Unless they are putting away fans on the roof? They’d sold 9k as of yesterday looking at their website.
-
Quite a few I would think, as for example, the Blackburn End had big gaps on the planner in areas like N01 and N05, and these were areas where a load of half STs were bought.
-
Considering STs are the same price as last year, well for existing ST holders they are, I imagine match tickets will be too, so £30/£32 for Cat A, £25/£27 for Cat B and £20 midweeks.

‘Pure dog?’ No idea what that means, but do I want tickets to be more reasonably priced? Note, reasonably, not given away, as you keep trying to put words In my mouth over - yes I do. But nice try to try and link my view on that to deflect from the fact that you behave like a 12 year old at matches. -

Lenihan is 28 and had a chance to sign a last multi year contract that would transform the life of him and his family, so he took it. That makes him a ‘greedy bastard’ who deserves to be chanted at? How sad. -

‘RFS’, ‘10 Bet’. Since leaving the PL it’s been a long procession of ‘who they?’ -
How do we know that? Some will have been holding off for that, certainly, many more will have all kinds of reasons for not doing so and wouldn’t be renewing whoever was appointed. We’ll see if the third deadline has done the trick for getting a good number to renew this time next week.

Mattyblue replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
End of the day there’s just over a month till kick off and we no longer have the services of Nyambe, Lenihan, Van Hecke, Rothwell, Khadra and (in all likelihood) BBD. That’s over half of the first choice side gone, plus other squad players have departed. It’s some job to have us ready. Let’s hope GB has the contacts, and an actual budget that can be competitive in this league because it looks a bloody big rebuilding job to me. -
I dread to think what sales would be like if TM’s contract had run for an extra year.

He won’t resign, so he should be removed from post. However, that would mean senior executives being held accountable at the club. The yearly failure over ticketing shows that constantly missing targets means bugger all.
