  1. A statement about what? He has over seven weeks employment left!
  2. I can imagine he’s on a ridiculous wage for that level as he was bought when their owner was throwing big money about…
  3. No football country like this for depth of support.
  4. Not sure it is fake outrage, he has a very high opinion of his abilities, so will be put out that a a man of his undoubted talent hasn’t been offered one as standard. However, he’ll have known all along what a bloody mess the club is, but he was happy to enough to turn the other cheek and sing the owners praises when gainfully employed, so speaking out now is sour grapes (but good to focus the minds of those that hang off his every word to open their eyes to this farcical set up).
  5. As good an explanation as any, Ben. Occam’s Razor and all that. So best ensure any new manger gets a 31st May (or why not 30th April, as the season is always over by then) contract end date.
  6. I didn’t say it did, thought the players did everything they could. They just needed a bit of help. Markanday and Brown had never played a first team game of football (I’m discounting semi pro League of Ireland), Zeefuik is a run of the mill full back, that isn’t a club serious about promotion. The lack of effort was with the owners, just like it has been for 12 years, it’s just much more noticeable when you see the big time slip away.
  7. And there was no middle ground to take between the Bournemouth January approach and what we pursued? And if that middle ground had failed in keeping us second, certainly it could have helped to prevent a fall to 8th in three months…
  8. Always exceptions, but when you have a fairly middling side to begin with, one that is going through an out of character purple patch, you can’t just hope you’ll be another, you need an insurance policy, so you invest in your team from a position of a strength. We didn’t.
  9. The team did, it just needed some January reinforcement, like all teams when battling for promotion, the want of trying was at the top of the tree…
  10. Must be wrong, we were told repeatedly by a certain poster that the Manc lad is only leaving to ‘go back down south’… maybe the midlands is what he meant.
  11. Oh I am leaning that way, but the fact both him and the club haven’t categorically confirmed it with the season now finished says you can’t be certain. Amazing that we are even having to have this conversation, what a farcical set up.
  12. It’s interesting to see every article from Sharpe saying he’s done, was his last game at Brum, TM confirmed his exit etc. But for me his statements have all (purposely) left a bit of ambiguity in them from what I’ve read. Still a fair chance he’s staying…
  13. Then if we aren’t a business they keep much of an eye on, surely it’s more important they put quality appointments in place in key positions, they don’t, ever, so if not malicious, certainly negligent…
  14. I’ve made peace that they aren’t going anywhere so we need their cash, that’s just how it is in the Championship. However, it’s your posts making them out as innocent bystanders being led a merry dance by various Dastardly’s and Muttley’s on the ground that gets my goat. It’s been 12 years and if they can’t/won’t get a grip of the operation by now, that’s on them, not TM or Venus or Waggott.
  15. My point is what you quoted. Good to see you’ve got there eventually…
  16. 12 years, Rev, and they can still be ‘played like a fiddle’ by journeymen football managers?
  17. A proper club would’ve announced it over a week ago, we aren’t one, but If ‘the club’ (whatever that means) even pretended to have a semblance of being normal, and behaving like a professional outfit, we would see a statement today…. So we won’t.
  18. Bds? Banned again, is he?
  19. Nowhere, that’s why all the football hipsters that wax lyrical about Germany and how fantastically unique it is need to look closer to home for the football country with the greatest depth…
  20. He’s played one last game of the season dead rubber, a match like that won’t tell you anything for certain either way…
  21. Because more usually arrive later on, ‘optimal stock management’, obviously. We run out of shirts every season for months at a time, if you can’t remember that, fair enough.
  22. Same thing happens even when we have crap ones. Most clubs go months of the season, every season, without a replica shirt on sale, so they?
  23. Unlike Rothwell and Johnson, Lenihan and Nyambe were not announced to be leaving, ergo a chance they could still sign new deals… they haven’t announced another fella’s departure either.
