  1. I did get something in the post, but I wouldn’t call it a ‘renewal pack’, just a leaflet directing me to the website.
  2. South Asia has obviously struggled to produce footballers of any note (though that doesn’t mean there isn’t potential either there or in the diaspora). But a bit odd to lump east Asia in into it, as Japan and South Korea are consistently strong sides and do produce plenty of players that are across Europe’s top leagues…
  3. Yes to the first part, but they will *only* get c5k due to the DE car park limitations for the coaches, as otherwise it would’ve been yes to the second part too…
  4. Sums them up that they’d pick a Rovers defeat as a season highlight. Get that tinpot outfit back to where they belong…
  5. So Sharpe is wrong. Plus the club (who always like to crow about even minimal improvements) are choosing not to publicise this well needed new drainage system? Hmm, doesn’t add up, sorry.
  6. Yet a far more unlikeable fanbase with the millions of plastic hangers on that pollute every town, so… ‘Blue Moon… ‘
  7. So no new drainage system then, perhaps don’t exaggerate for effect in future!
  8. It’s a photo of a grass-less pitch, not really going to tell me much, is it! So Sharpe is wrong and we are having a new drainage system put in like you said this morning?
  9. Of course, if he had another year on his contract he’d still be here. A decision only being made because the bloke in position has actually left the building. Win, lose, draw. Charge up the table or death spiral - Pune couldn’t care less.
  10. Always the ‘little old Rovers’ pat on the head vibe from Myers. He hasn’t been as accepting of mediocrity at his beloved Toffees this season…
  11. Perhaps then, 1864 needs to be a little more questioning instead of just swallowing whatever BS line Swag is imparting…
  12. There is no particular problem in interviewing candidates, but you shouldn’t be sifting through CVs in the close season when you’ve known for months that the bloke in situ was soon to be out of contract and there was no indication from the owners that he was to be retained. It’s called succession planning, alas standard business practices don’t exist at this club…
  13. All about reducing losses when literally three months from hitting the biggest jackpot possible to wipe out the lot, if ever there was a real life definition of ‘penny wise, pound foolish’, ‘false economy’ and any others you can think of…
  14. So this summer the pitch is being completely renovated? Drainage, the works? If that’s the case why is it not being mentioned by the club? As Swag would surely be shouting it from the rooftops, like he was the other year before he got put back in its box and the full works was scrapped. Looks just like a standard re-seed to me?
  15. I would think so. Cancelled about a month ago! Good job they spoke to you or they’d have been just them and a 🚜 on the pitch…
  16. The Sun? Pah! He’s realised there’s are plenty of folk actually willing to pay him directly through Patreon for his ‘insights’, so he’s cut out the middleman! Cracking grift, but the mind boggles at the mugs signing up for it 🤦‍♂️
  17. To the level we are seeing now very much is a change from twenty years ago, I.e even after winning a semi final, that means bugger all in itself. You rarely saw them from the mid 90s until the last few years. I.e why didn’t we end up on the pitch after going up at Deepdale? Winning the League Cup semi final? After winning the bloody Premier League! Yet ended up on the pitch twice in one week after Doncaster and Oxford in League 1 of all places? Smart phones and social media are very much a major reason to why they have come back in a big way.
  18. A Yorkshire Dales villages in Cumbria… go figure!
  19. Indeed, don’t recall anyone charging on the pitch at Deepdale… or Anfield and it didn’t stop me from having ‘one of the best nights of my life’.
  20. To be fair, the FA Cup generally has died on its arse as a big event. It really was massive when I was a kid, alas league football has become the be-all and end-all the last twenty odd years. All about those 4th and 17th place trophies!
  21. I’m sure the top tickets for the League Cup final were a fair wedge too and as you say a long time ago…
  22. The club likes to give the impression that it’s now normal, I.e a board and a Chief Exec making decisions locally, but TM let the cat out of the bag that nowt’s really changed when it comes to who holds the power…
  23. Sorry, but any club should be able to see the difference from an Elliot, known in the game to be going to the very top, and a Clarkson, a run of the mill kid, in which there will be countless examples of in every academy and U23 side. We are supposedly a Championship side, not a L2 club just happy for bodies, we need players that can make a difference in what is a decent level, I expect your standard churned out Academy product to be sent to a Barrow, a Fleetwood. The actual discussion centred on how these run of the mill 18 year olds get chucked straight in the side, whilst our own go on a magical mystery tour until they are about 21. I don’t think we should be bringing in teenagers from other clubs unless they are better than our own products - and that’s what scouts and loan managers are for, yes sometimes even they won’t work out, that’s football, but for me there is a lack of due diligence with these signings and it’s simply a case of, ‘well he’s from Liverpool’s 🤩academy, so we’ll have him..’ But Ok. We’ll leave it there, as we obviously won’t agree, so I can see arguments being repeated all day here.
  24. Like everything else, it’s down to social media and smart phones. ‘Look at me’ and general follow the leader once one invasion goes viral. In the 90s and 2000s pitch invasions had pretty much gone out of the game, you’d see it an odd time in the lower leagues and think ‘wow, old school’. Like you said, all our great days prior to social media you never saw a Rovers fan on the pitch… then in 2018 two invasions in a week after the mighty achievement of finishing second in the third division… with phones in hand for most of them charging on.
