  1. Big Kim Wilde man, is rigger.
  2. The copper one was deemed our ‘continental style away shirt’, all very cosmopolitan… not sure I remember Red Star Belgrade or Steau Bucharest wearing it though…
  3. Well, let’s see whet happens on Wednesday first!
  4. Of course getting out of L1 was an achievement, however my overriding feeling was one of relief, Blackburn Rovers being in that league after everything Jack had built was upsetting, and I didn’t want to see us get stuck in down there, like many others, and seeing the club wane and wane as a result. However, getting out of this league would be dream land stuff, as post Kean, post Wigan 2012, post everything this past decade has seen I never thought we’d see the PL again…
  5. Like Mark said it wouldn’t have lasted once the oil money came in, but there was nothing stopping the club challenging for trophies from 95/96 until the early 2000s. From Jack down the club made a lot of strategic mistakes post Anfield.
  6. Still worth watching for the Gerald Stinstadt voiceover 👌
  7. Swansea at sea level will be a breeze after last playing on a waterlogged pitch up the Andes…
  8. I don’t even care what Mowbray says in a Thursday afternoon presser never mind other managers. How is he misleading the fans?
  9. So was I… though it was a friendly, to be fair!
  10. Most managers come out with a load of claptrap to the media pre game, I couldn’t give a monkeys when sitting second place, odd that it seems to rile you so much, rigger?
  11. Of course, the club was gearing up for bigger things both times, and having winners like those two in situ was perfect. However, for the stripped down operation we now are, to get this motley crew up, with Balaji instead of Jack, Swag instead of Williams, a team of largely young lads instead of PL and European Cup winners and internationals, it would be a phenomenal achievement.
  12. …followed by three more Sky games!
  13. They are greats of the game, Tony Mowbray isn’t, though saying that, apart from Rovers, Souness didn’t exactly pull up any trees as a manager in English football. But for me, to get modern day Blackburn Rovers into the PL with this squad, with how the club is run, would be a far bigger achievement than promotion was with either of those two esteemed fellas.
  14. Come off it. This present team is largely a combination of loanees and academy grads. Souness had a team of internationals and pros with promotions under their belt and/or years of PL experience. TM gets this squad up and it would be a monumental achievement, and it’s amazing the mental gymnastics some folk are going through to avoid holding their hands up.
  15. Kenny and Souness were lucky enough to have one of, if not, the biggest budgets in the second tier - plus Jack Walker and in Souness’ case, John Williams, to work for. TM’s budget and the set up of today’s club is a million miles off that. It’s therefore a ridiculous argument (and an example of the corner some on here have painted themselves into) to say he would then deserve to get the boot if he got us up in such circumstances.
  16. When we play Millwall on the 19th Feb, we’ll have just gone nine league matches with just ONE Saturday 3pm game, the price of success, ay!
  17. Did Kenny and Souness deserve the boot in 1992 and 2001?
  18. There’s already a thread further down…
  19. Just the March international break, Brazil away 24th, Uruguay home 29th. We play at Reading 19th, then Coventry 2nd April. So (fixture changes aide), hopefully he won’t be missing any games.
  20. It’s on the BBC, the LT, LancsLive and the Rovers website… where else could you possibly look for Rovers news? 😁
  21. Giles isn’t here to not even make the bench!
  22. Good job I’m watching at home, as you can imagine many a boozer will have a different channel on for the annual parade of northerners pretending they like rugby union… 😁
  23. I don’t think it was too bad, but I’m not arsed if the also rans of the league had a worse window than us… as there’s only a select few that matter, one being Boscombe FC.
  24. Could’ve been better, the bare bones we ended up with at Luton tells tells us that. However, part of the good/bad/indifferent chat is often skewed over when you did you business. If it’d been quiet through January but then yesterday announced Giles, Hedges, Markanday and Zeefuik whilst keeping all our key men, we’d be thinking, not a bad window that. You drip feed it through the month and then a quiet deadline day and folk skew to thinking it was poor.
  25. About 14.5k Bolton fans… more than we are getting sat in the automatic Championship promotion places. Why? They sold a shed load more STs than us last summer, it’s that simple. Over to you Waggott for the summer sales campaign…
