European Champions League 2019/20
Mattyblue replied to philipl's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I watch very little European football as don’t have BT, and to be honest seeing the cartel clubs playing and further enriching each other year in year out at the expense of the competitiveness of domestic football does little for me. However I remembered at the last minute that BT have to show the final free of charge so I found it on their YouTube channel... they don’t advertise that fact very widely though, strangely enough -
It’s all about what and who we are as a club in 2020. Unfortunately this regime has probably put paid to us ever again becoming the club we were when Jones emerged, never mind who we were in 1997/98 when Duff and Dunn were breaking through. However, if this hollowed out operation can still have an academy that can churn out players of Travis’ quality on a regular basis then that’s fine by me.

Mid 80s until about 1996, every away kit was a cracker (just what were the two recurring themes?! ?) -
His potential move has gone down well. ’Shite hole of a human’ by all accounts... https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/danny-graham.1526481/

Ha, the stream would be available in perpetuity if that was the case!

The State of Ewood Park!

If it doesn’t bother you then fair enough. The optics of the Walker Fame memorial bricks with weeds sprouting out of them and a generally filthy ground obviously does bother a hell of a lot of fans and the club were embarrassed enough to put out a statement, which says it all considering they’ve said bugger all for 5 months... -

Understandable, but what isn’t is the years of neglect down there, those pics aren’t just showing a few months of a lack of upkeep due to furloughed workers... -

I thought we’d moved on from those days when I saw that magnificent stadium rise up, didn’t you? -
I don’t personally get too carried away with gossip either way, but wasn’t that largely from Kamy’s post? He painted a pretty bleak picture, and as he has/had (?) a long lasting line into the club, of course people feared the worst. Though it’s a fine example of how everything needs to be taken with a pitch of salt at this time of year...

And to think, when I mentioned how I expect little to be done to commemorate our 150th, I got the piss taken by a few on here... -

But why? They didn’t look particularly tatty or faded, an easy gimmick to showcase our heritage. I honestly can’t comprehend the decision making. -

They removed a fantastic pictorial historical timeline for that ‘Visiting Supporters Ticket Sales’, even though there is another sign just behind saying the exact same thing. A club, nay an institution, that has completely lost its way and needs pulling up by its bootstraps. -

I see a well known brfcs-er is defending it on Twitter, ‘cos furlough’. Not an excuse, ground staff could keep on top of that kind of stuff - though they are very stretched these days with covering both sites. But ask for volunteers! We are a supposed to be ‘a club’, no? The furlough is a red herring that neatly allows the executives to abdicate their very basic duties, the state of the ground has been a disgrace for years. -
It ‘takes time’ because the ground has been left to rot for years, not months. I’ve mentioned this before, but I used to go to the gym built into the away end at Deepdale, there was a constant buzz of folk around the ground; jet washing, touching up the paint, sweeping up, cleaning and so on. A quick glance of Ewood tells you it’s been a long time since we’ve had that here. It’s bloody piss poor and shows a lack of professional pride and commitment from the Chief Exec down, if nothing else. Though to be expected when a club has become a hollowed out husk run by hired hands.

Costs money? Bit of weed killer? Didn’t realise we’d gone right back to the mid 80s in which we are choosing between paying for training balls or leccy bills. It must be even more dire down there than any of us realised...
-
Season tickets? Considering Ewood seems to have been through a zombie apocalypse, I doubt we’ll be seeing them on sale anytime soon...
-
And we are too incompetent to even make hay out of that as the third kits usually go out of stock after about three weeks...

He’s having a jolly old time, stop feeding! The good thing about avatars on the site is if I see that a thread is ‘Hot’ and a golden M as seemingly always the last post, I know to steer clear.
