Name names. Who ‘hates’ the manager, coaches, and even more specifically the folk just doing their job down at Ewood, in the ticket office or elsewhere?

The State of Ewood Park!
Mattyblue replied to A Northern Horde...'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Didn’t we used to have an Ewood team and a Brockhall team? Now it’s just one trying to cover both sites? -
Who says it’s our fault if he doesn’t sign? We went for it, but gazumped by PL firepower, that’s the food chain...
-
We have billionaire owners who oversee a global conglomerate, how is that comparable to Bolton - cockney spiv who didn’t have a pot to piss in, Bury - local property speculators and other potless businessmen, and Wigan - sold to professional gamblers based in the Far East?
-
It isn’t the sole purpose though, is it? Initially they are obviously bought for our team, but young English forwards are known to go for the big bucks, which is the model we are/were following, which is a sensible approach, but you need to ensure you are seeking ‘value’ with those initial purchases - see AA as a prime example of it.

Someone send that to Waggott...

It’s a sign of how desperate fans are for him to do well that his improvement from a very low base - I.e he can now actually run with the ball and hold off a man is lauded. Fair enough, as it’s better for everyone all round that he gets better. Does he look like he has the tools to be a PL player? As surely that’s what you are betting on when you buy a teenager for £7million, frankly no at this stage. I would say the ‘model’ has malfunctioned on this one as I don’t see us getting a return on investment, in contrast to the excellent bit of business that was Armstrong, but hopefully he can at least make it as a decent Championship player, big season ahead for all involved.
-
Every player gets abuse on Twitter after poor performances. Gallagher, Bell, Bennett, Walton just off the top of my head from last season. Nasty and completely counter-productive stuff they wouldn’t dare say to their face, but it’s the modern world unfortunately. However, at games, by and large he’s been given fantastic support considering just how poor he’s been for large parts, and it’s been a credit to the match going support.

I don’t particularly buy the lines that have been fed to J*B, but if that’s what they are going with then tell the fanbase. It’s September on Tuesday and we’ve had one statement since March (and that was a tweaked EFL press release about ifollow for ST holders). Just piss poor communication.

Dack is a fair player bit he still works (I see graft as your whole approach to your career, training, rehabilitation etc, not just tracking back etc.) If his career fails it’s on him, not Tony Mowbray. Though on the flip side, he leaves here and thrives, then of course it is a black mark on Mowbray and his man management.
-
Mowbray has all manner of faults, but one thing I’ve always been pleased with is that his sides have always grafted for the shirt and each other. I just don’t see Chapman buying into it. Is that partly due to TM being overly critical on young players? Probably, but the likes of Nyambe and Travis have shown the desire and professionalism to thrive anyway. It’s a short career and the responsibility for your career ultimately comes down to yourself, alas Chapman doesn’t look like he wants it enough and there are plenty that do and will elbow him aside (looks like one has just arrived).

The Godlike Genius of Charlie Mulgrew
Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
We all were? I was just relieved to get out quickly and fair play to everyone involved for achieving it. But I certainly didn’t see coming second in the third division as something to crow about or something the players or managers should live off in perpetuity. -
I personally think he does have the ability. However, his attitude and general approach to himself and his fitness says he’ll be in the lower leagues (if playing football at all) sooner rather than later.
-
1) They are being highly optimistic if they think we are only going to be a few hundred down on last season. 2) ’Don’t want to do the admin’, neatly sums up the operation down there this past decade. 3) Ok, so we put them on sale in, say, November ready for the transfer window, my answer to 1) becomes even more relevant as they are in cloud cuckoo land if they think they are selling decent numbers with fans almost a year out of the ground and a very real threat of a second wave mixed in with winter flu season (nevermind what state the job market will be in).
-
You honestly think being one of the very few clubs in the country without them on sale is purely because of a seemingly unique worry over capacity and the altruistic notion of wanting fans to keep money in their pocket? Nothing to do with not getting a yearly audience and therefore no steer from the owners?
-
Haven’t you been boycotting for the last few years, J*B?

Preston obviously stung by us nabbing Dolan... https://www.pnefc.net/news/2020/august/club-update-youth-development/

It’ll need a good wash after those pics...

Almost... the white collar lets it down. Though lets see it worn this afternoon, bit bizarre having a publicity shot with it limply hanging on a plastic coat hanger...

And if a PL club had come straight in for him the morning after that header he’d have jettisoned us quicker than you could’ve said ‘loyalty bonus’... that’s the game. -

I’m assuming it’ll be the same tweet for the SFA when he’s left out of the next Scotland squad? -
A great point, the club still seems to operate with a Blackburn with Darwen mindset, when I would wager the percentage of our season ticket holders/regular walk ons with a Blackburn postcode has dropped markedly over the past 20 years as more and more Rovers supporting Blackburners have spread across Lancashire. The re-instalment of our old branch network, modelled on the very active and popular London Branch should be a priority, yet I doubt it’s even on a radar...

We scuppered ourselves, someone may correct me but wasn’t it that the Ewood offices were shut when he came for sign. Was told to ‘come back tomorrow’ or after the weekend, Fergie got wind of the delay and the rest is history. The club at that time was growing too quickly for its still rather second division set-up.
-
He may well be forthright in interviews and ‘one of the lads’ in the dressing room, unfortunately he’s been a ‘delicate little flower’ on the pitch thus far,

In the 90s? Never. In the 2000s? Possibly, we certainly weren’t paying wages substantially, if at all higher than clubs like West Brom by the late Walker Trust era when they had Di Matteo/Hodgson. Glad to hear it.
