  1. One of the main stories on BBC Football... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49581670
  2. Monk sounded like he was up to his neck in it... back employed in a few months. The fact that 7 years on Kean has still not worked in any capacity in the UK says it all.
  3. Last season’s holders are going to have their STs auto renewed unless they tell the club otherwise (DIrect Debit payers). Quite a lot of clubs do similar.
  4. Rovers lose any game and it ruins my weekend. England lost the semi final of the World Cup and I’d forgotten about it by the time I’d walked upstairs.
  5. The rugby club badge is a good ‘un though, good mix of Blackburn and Lancashire heritage.
  6. Been around much longer than 30 years...
  7. ‘Good enough’ Sounds about right for modern Blackburn Rovers.
  8. Looking at their forum and Bolton News comments, a fair few DO think they can now survive. Hope springs eternal and all that, but bringing in largely run of the mill third division plodders will mean that will be some feat from where they are... though the EFL will surely help them out, as they have gone very quiet on any further point deductions.
  9. Conway and Rodwell haven’t been signed up anywhere, neither has Whittingham from last summer...
  10. We supposedly had 11,500 home fans in attendance against Cardiff, so 2,000 or so of those are theoretically paid ‘walk ons’, but I imagine some of those would have be complementaries too. So the actual numbers of folk actually buying a ticket game by game for standard games must be under 2k. No wonder he wants to push STs, as the Ewood attendance has always been very ST heavy and only an increase in ST sales will drive crowd increases. Good job that £3 keeps it all manageable down there, ay...
  11. I thought it was 8,600 sales. So under 8s being bundled in with the complementaries to take us up to 9,500 or so ‘holders’. 10,000 sales being what he actually wants.
  12. I sit near some Rishton lads and I’ve asked them that and they are adamant it’s still heavily Rovers. But it’s still a worry that those changes have even happened to a town with a BB1 postcode literally on Blackburn’s boundary.
  13. I don’t think you do see the ‘big picture’ Atko. You seem to think these young players will keep improving and fulfil their potential, ergo improving the side. Many a young player simply doesn’t kick on. The top end players that should be there to supplement said young lads can quickly end up over the hill - prime example Mulgrew, and unfortunately Graham seems to be heading that way, or they leave - could well be Dack’s last season. You are then back to square one, hoping the next batch of young lads improve and we carry on ad infinitum with this ‘slow build ‘ that never actually builds. ‘This time next year Rodders...’
  14. Probably not, I imagine both will drop away. Charlton are continuing the trend of many a promoted side showing early season momentum.
  15. I honestly don’t think we are close to being a top 6 side and talking to plenty of our fans yesterday that was a fairly shared view.
  16. Good to hear it. So just Phil then.
  17. Yes it was compete shit. I was extremely down by it all. I hated the owners absolutely for what they were doing to my fantastic club. Ergo I was on marches, meetings, walk outs and the rest of it showing my ongoing pride in my club. Yet you were embarrassed to be a Rovers fan?
  18. Never, ever I have been embarrassed by Blackburn Rovers. The club was under occupation by nefarious people, but that in no way impacted my view of a football institution going back nearly 150 years.
  19. Shame for being a Rovers fan? I stopped reading there.
  20. Don’t recall Kenny taking us into a season with one young loanee as the only keeper remotely close to the required standard?
  21. Wasn’t he scoring and crediting goals for the U23s before Mowbray’s interview? Largely because like Nuttall before him he doesn’t seem to find that level of football particularly challenging.
  22. He’s too old according to this. ‘98 births onwards. Travis was born October 1997.
  23. The problem with having such a poor back up keeper is the lack of competition it creates. I personally think some of Raya’s issues were down to complacency and losing that sharpness.
  24. English teams stroll through the groups for a nice little earner. People then tune in for the knockouts in February. You could make a competition out of it... call it the ‘European Cup’, something like that.
