  1. We’ll see at the close of the window, let’s await these defenders, net spend of about £1.5 million thus far...
  2. I’m looking at it the other way, if SG had signed, BB would still just be that lad at Forest who ran past Liam Feeney at the City Ground.
  3. Why unlikely? What seems unlikely to me is buying an English £7million young 6 foot plus forward in the same summer of purchasing another English 6 foot plus forward for £5million. But maybe you’re right and that was the plan, it would’ve been some statement of intent for a club straight out of the third division, though odd priorities, no?
  4. Because he wanted to sign him last summer but missed out. Ergo the Gallagher ‘pot’ for a young, English forward went on BB in the dying embers of the window. All in my humble, non ITK opinion, of course.
  5. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17769160.mowbray-rovers-journey-sign-sam-gallagher/ Well that explains BB...
  6. My post had no inference, certainly Mani’s post has some merit, just unique in 2019, no?
  7. Nyambe is our only non British & Irish outfield player... and even he is from our academy. So that’s zero signed foreign players. I doubt there is another club in England like that (certainly in the top two divisions).

  9. Nothing. A career that was drifting, like so many PL academy graduates. But it’s previous in this division, in a relegated team. End of the day he’s here and it’s more of a pedigree than the other fella (and a considerably cheaper fee).
  10. 12 goals for a 19 year old in a relegated team? Good enough for me!
  11. The way I look at it. A 19 year old Sam Gallagher scored a dozen goals for us in a shambles of a season that ended in relegation. Compare and contrast to another young forward brought in in much calmer times...
  12. Indeed, something chaddy never got. There is a hardcore who wouldn’t dream of not being an Ewood regular. Part of who they are. But there are many more that dip in and dip out, the ‘floating fan’. They certainly DO need adverts, freezes and the rest of it as they need bringing in the tent to start with.
  13. Reading the article on SG in the Telegraph this morning sums them up. ’According to rumours in the national press’. They seemingly have literally no contacts within the club these days. Poor stuff from the local paper.
  14. Nope. Feel free to say their moaning is incorrect because of a, b, c. Of course they can be debated, if you can’t be arsed that’s up to you. I was surprised at Biz, because I often disagree with him but he will normally debate the issues to the cows come home, not try and close debate down.
  15. So what? If their opinion is Mowbray/the club is having a poor window they are free to post it. Debate them. Don’t just post a combination of ‘hysterical’, ‘breakdown’, ‘meltdown’. As you know what, posts like that add bugger all either.
  16. Think I read the Price of Football twitter account the other day say they are the only club in the PL with no external debt.
  17. Maybe you’ll take what he says with a pinch of salt then in future Biz and not go in to bat for him for months decrying anybody that disagreed as financially illiterate and not understanding the wonderful world of flex. The lies he’s currently coming out with re season ticket sales says the bloke says whatever is good for his position at the time.
  18. So ‘flex’ isn’t the crux of what we do then at all, is it? Because this transfer breaks the two rules of ‘the flex’. just something you made up to make the BB transfer more palatable
  19. Im talking about the club’s internal ‘flex’, accounting practices, we don’t want to confuse the two. Biz said we do one of two things: Either small/no fee... means experienced can have a big wage - Johnson Big fee but small wages - so development players like BB. That is the flex. We couldn’t possibly spend say £5million on a player AND fund his £25,000 a week wages... oh
  20. Can you explain how the flex works with Gallagher. Big outlay of a transfer fee and a PL wage earner.
  21. Sounds great, looking forward to hitting the 10,000+ by KO.
  22. Really? Only missed them by a season.
  23. Well timed https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48964162
