No Hart involved for Burnley either...
-
Offensively, I think we are right up there. Alas, a piss poor defence that doesn’t seem to be getting resolved.

Thought they just had to give a month’s notice. Which is what some of the others did earlier on. So if they have, presumably they walk in weeks -
Well I have. Across media, academia, government publications and so on. Snowflake yes, pejorative. Millennial is the accepted term for that mid 80s to late 90s generation, if it is used sarcastically by people you know or not.
-
Not true. It is the accepted academic and sociological title for that generation, I.e reaching adulthood/teenage years at the start of the 21st century. Generation Z being the generation underneath.

Accy Stanley get bigger gates than Hamilton (and they’ve been in the top flight for a good few years). The majority of the league struggle to attract 5,000 fans. Some achievement, ay? -

Obviously think they are a top side because they can finish ahead of teams with English League 1/2 budgets. Amazing lack of awareness to how bad their league is and ergo their own quality. -
Surely the ability to debate shouldn’t be age specific? Social media has created echo chambers where you largely ‘follow’ people with the same views as you . Apart from being Rovers fans, this place is a free for all when it comes to views, ergo some people seem to struggle to accept ‘negativity’, or ‘positivity’ for that matter, as it differs from their own viewpoint.
-
10 years ago forums were pretty much the only place for chat about our club. Now with the LT comments, Facebook groups etc, which are definitely more ‘positive’ than here, this place does stick out as ‘negative’ (realist?). I think this definitely is part of why you see more ‘soo negative in here’, ‘get behind them’ posts as that is what people see elsewhere.
-
Exactly!
-
I’ve never known the board like this. Not folk being ‘positive’ or ‘negative’ and having a good tussle, was ever thus. Had a good chinwag with me old mucker Bizzle this very morning. But more these stupid ‘just get behind them’, ‘just trust Mowbray’, ‘dont post that’, ‘be positive FFS’, ‘hysterical’ Its just very strange that people can’t seem to see the difference between being ‘negative’ on Ewood Park, I HATE that, we can really help get them over the line, and being ‘negative’, I.e criticising club policy, transfers, manager etc on an Internet forum. One is counter productive and not what a fan should be about, the other, isn’t that what a forum is all about, a frank exchange of views?
-
Interesting that up to the late 2000s it pretty much was yellow or red/black. With odd exceptions like the late 90s orange.
-
Of course it’s intangible, how the hell are you supposed to know if Amari’i Bell will develop it over a summer? Youngest? Us, and who had one one of the worst defences? So you would want experienced defenders that are much more likely to have ‘game management’, than merely hoping young lads who happen to be 3 months older have suddenly developed it.
-
I want the very best. That’s why i’ll be getting behind the lads every single week. As I also want the very best, I’ll use an Internet forum to post my doubts on why we may not achieve it. Come on Phil, you should know how football forums work by now?
-
A lot of hope being put in a concept as intangible as ‘game management’. Certainly ‘improved game management’ from the likes of Amari’i Bell wasn’t what TM had in mind when he was looking at improving one of the worst defences in the entire Football League.

Two weeks till the season. No owners, 5 outfield players and they are on strike, no pay for 5 months, no changing rooms or hot water at the training ground, no season tickets on sale, no kit, at least minus 12 points. -
You said we weren’t far away, I presume that means from the top 6? So an improved side ergo has us challenging, no? No extremes with me as we’ll be mid table again, it’s you that sounds like he needs to cool your jets. Where is the improved ‘game management’ coming from defensively, by the way? Just this keeper who we don’t even know? Or a young lad who’s hardly played centre half?
-
14 points with a crap goal difference, and yes it is when there were 10 other clubs in the way. I presumed as you thought we ‘werent far away’ said players being a ‘step up’ would push us to the top 6..
-
Not too far away? We finished 15th. Largely because we couldn’t defend. If a new keeper and a young lad that’s hardly played centre half is going to make all the difference in your view, then fair enough, though I doubt it was how TM was visualising it in May.
-
If ‘defenders are coming’ turns into one young loanee then that’s a big choice the club has chosen to make. Raya was the main culprit of our appalling defence must be their thinking. Well on their head be it.

Some people obviously do like it, social media says as much. But some people DO buy anything with a Rovers badge on it, I’ve spent years on a coach to aways with a load of such fans, great fans they are too, but taste doesn’t come into it... I bet you can work out the group in question, by the way. Oh and Swansea was last game of the season, when the shirts had been reduced to £15... so go figure.
-
I think 45+ years is a decent amount of time to be a tradition, but it’s not every season anyway, so fair enough to me.
-
So no beef. A staple (though not every season) since the 70s.
-
As I’ve said, not every season, but it obviously has been part of the shirt standard palette for decades, I.e since the 70s.
