So the striker money wasn’t spent on a striker, we used the Raya fee instead? Now we get to spend the striker money on a defender? Excellent.
-
And if people don't just get ‘100% behind the team and TM’ on an Internet forum with about 50 regular posters, instead they just post their opinion, that impacts the team how? Ewood? Get behind the lads. Here? Say what you want!
-
Course he will. Feel like I can’t remember a time he wasn’t crabbing around our midfield.

Things happen in the run up to a season, having a picture taken in a kit, probably in May doesn’t mean much.

Ha! Like that means owt! Went merrily on holiday post Euro 96 after seeing Shearer modelling our new ‘CIS’ kit...

Season Tickets 2019/2020
Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
So latest FF minutes, the club has apologised for the confusion and the target is actually 11,000. 10,000 to sell and 1,000 complementaries. Last season being 9,400 + 1,000 (10,400). Makes much more sense, so no idea what Waggott was talking about earlier in the summer. What I did find interesting is that 15,000 people in the ‘Preston area’ (presumably PR postcodes, so South Ribble/Chorley Boroughs too) had bought tickets in recent years, so the club thinks it’s fair game to advertise over there.. quite right too! ‘Bigger than PNE’s average crowd’ Great dig Greg Coar I’ve said before that there has been massive demographic change in the town of Blackburn, with many, many more of our fans now outside BwD. Good to see that the club realises this too. https://www.rovers.co.uk/siteassets/pdfs/fans-forum-minutes/8th-july-2019.pdf -
Whipped in peach of a cross by Rankin-Costello for BB. When was the last time ANY of our full backs did that?
-
He played about 12 games for us in League 1 and not particularly proficiently. He obviously didn’t get in that team on the back of his form at Rovers.

You should do a travelogue, Vinjay in Vegas. -
Lot to prove for me. Think it was a panicked signing and in my view it will go down as an error of judgement. Doesnt mean I won’t support him to the hilt at games.
-
He’s always had a clean slate at Ewood (yes there’s always odd dicks shouting stuff) Loudest cheer of the season for that Bolton goal.

Championship season 2019-20

The latter two, perhaps, don’t think there would’ve been many jealous glances for Downing. -
Odd one Nuttall. Because of his stature he overpowers a lot of under 23s, but at League 1 level he will face bruising centre halves every week. He has to move on though, well down the pecking order now.
-
That final part of his quote is fairly explicit, so I presume (and hope) that will be the focus until the window closes.
-
We did ok up till January time, but like many a promoted side, levels dropped. I’d be surprised if you didn’t think that back line needed reinforcing back in May Not saying it’s easy, I’m saying it’s very risky to expect those listed names to improve such a poor defence.
-
End of the day the window isn’t shut. So yes much may be occurring behind the scenes. But I think you are under playing just how bad we were at the back last season, I don’t need TM to tell me that defenders are needed! In my view, we’ve done a like for like GK swap (in terms of ability), so bringing in young defenders on loan and looking to blood academy defenders would be great for a solid defensive unit. However, ours is one of the very worst back lines in the EFL and it would be fool hardy and unfair to expect young lads to step into the breach, even if the academy lads are making supposed huge strides. Unless I’ve read your post wrong and you are expecting an experienced centre half and Tosin/Academy lads will be to supplement said experienced head? if so, then i’d be fine with that. If such a player doesn’t arrive then it’s a massive risk
-
I don’t think he has a ’dour persona’, Lambert was a fine example of that. He’s more ‘jumpers for goalposts’, naively enthusiastic, which I find quite endearing for a fella that’s been around this cesspit of an industry for so long.

I’ve no real thoughts about Real Madrid, but you can imagine the place is rife with politics and cliques. -

Good for him. Reading this, sounds like he just can’t be arsed speaking to his team mates... https://www.theolivepress.es/spain-news/2019/03/02/gareth-bale-criticised-for-speaking-no-spanish-and-not-socialising-after-six-years-at-real-madrid/ -

Strange character by all accounts. Supposedly not learnt a word of Spanish in 6 years. As a contrast, Aaron Ramsey turned up for his unveiling at Juventus last week and conducted the press conference in (basic admittedly) Italian. -
Anyone know what actually happened there? Did he get a short term deal whilst he gets treatment?
-
Indeed. The way it is after last deadline day’s business...

Why do you keep quoting a totally unrelated post of mine when you are posting??

Haven’t we already spent it?
