Considering what happened under these owners, to still average around 13/14,000 (until Coyle) was pretty good going. The size of Ewood always makes it seem worse.
-
Odd games in 94/95 it was shared. From 1995/96 until mid 2000s it was shared, then a couple of years of away fans only under Hughes, then ‘Taking Back Ewood’ in 2008 until this season it was shared again.

On relegation, the Dingles will probably hold on to a good number of PL season ticket holders, most clubs do. But a couple of mediocre years and they’ll be back to PNE crowds.
-
Don’t think it particularly annoys away fans. Surely nobody enjoys looking over to an enormous bank of 5,000 empty seats in the lower tier, plus another 2,000+ in the upper. Up to the club to try and fill more seats with home fans, would be the rational potential solution...

Average how? We’ve had excellent support for our catchment area for a generation. Even in the 80s we matched up with other clubs with similar demographics, that’s pre Jack. Plus, 10/11,000 in League 1, would match up to anyone considering where we reside. On pure numbers it is ‘average’, we don’t get the crowds of some of our peers in this league, I.e Derby, Forest etc because we don’t have the fanbase and never will. ‘You can only wee with the willy you’ve got’

It’s official, expected to bring less than 2,000 you’re in the upper tier. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/17213272.darwen-end-upper-tier-the-new-home-for-away-fans-at-ewood/?ref=mr&lp=2 I get it, other clubs do it, out of sight and all that. The difference is at Ewood is that the Darwen End is considerably bigger than away ends at those other clubs and a small following, I.e Rotherham have sold around 600 so far, makes it look very desolate at that end of the ground and ensures an even flatter atmosphere.

‘Shit support have the Plastics’. If we had a load of plastic fans, we wouldn’t have ‘shit support’, no? ?♂️ Preston logic.

Good luck to them selling many this season! -
Sheff Wed? Just announced as Cat A, so another chance for an attractive game to be designated ‘local promotion’ gone. The 1800 Wednesday fans would pay top dollar regardless, so what’s to lose? Doesnt look like there will be a single ticket promotion this calendar year back in the Championship. All that supply and not a single initiative. Amazing.

One extra game though, so works out similar to the Jack Walker, cheaper for the Blackburn End and Riverside... -
I’m with JH, never heard of ST holders getting priority on blocks once they are on open sale, they had their chance for priority the week before. Up to 3,500 by the way.

Ooo cutting!

However, if Wigan has been at the weekend in say early season or around Christmas or in the run-in it could have been another bumper following. Que sera...

Been very unlucky with the local games. There’s only three and only one of them is a Sat 3pm. Of the other two, one ends up on Sky at £30 a ticket and no trains, the other is just days after the mega following and midweek, so pretty much guarantees a much dismissed figure - 2/2.5k at best.

Looking at the style of the website it’s part of the Mirror Group, so I presume they just share ‘gossip’ stories across their titles? Fills up a page and gets the click count up.

It’ll be orders from Preston.

Good luck to him if it happened, but for me he is a million miles away from a top 6 PL and CL side.
-
We’ve been selling the majority of our away tickets for games like Stoke and West Brom to non season ticket holders, so this will be the same. Plus, a lot of ST holders will be waiting for open sale as they’ll have non ST-ers in their group, so I imagine a big spike from tomorrow.

I’d say he must go round for a bottle of one of Mercer’s fine reds, but I remember that McDonut’s teetotal...

I do, most people on here do. But if someone has an issue with season ticket prices or the Darwen End or transfers or whatever, then let’s discuss them, it doesn’t mean the club is going to hell in a handcart or that people on here think the club is a shambles from top to bottom . Every organisation should be looking to constantly improve and a football club is no different on or off the pitch.
-
In my opinion, I think £250 for a half season ticket in the Jack Walker upper for second tier football isn’t particularly good value, you do, fair enough. Happy to debate it with you, but instead of debating you seem to have a constant need to enter thread after thread and attempt to shut them down or derail them by banging on about ‘negativity, ‘usual suspects’, ‘your gang’ and so on. It’s getting very daft.

Let’s be honest, on gates of 11-14k we will never be self sufficient outside the Premier League, and certainly not in the Championship, so will ever remain an example of an ‘owner reliant model’. I’ve no real issue with that, however it all depends on ever continuing funding from Pune. -
The Blackburn End and Jack Walker are looking slightly fuller, but not substantially so. But the Darwen End of the ground looked awful to me and it can’t help the players. If we expect a club to bring, say 3,500/4,000, certainly fill the upper and then put the overspill downstairs. But when a club is bringing a few hundred having them tucked away in a top corner of an enormous stand just makes Ewood look desolate.
