Really looking forward to the month ahead, we could be excellently placed going into December. Alas, it’s the Championship so who knows how it will actually work out, though that is what a League should be all about!

WBA VS ROVERS - SAT 27TH
Mattyblue replied to Dreams of 1995's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Fair enough Biz. You think someone’s wrong, you give an opposite viewpoint and it’s debated. Thd thing that’s annoying me about the board in recent weeks is the plethora of posts like; ‘God, soooo negative on here’, ‘just get behind Ben, just trust Mowbray ffs’ If you make a point expect to be debated on it, not just be shut down. -
Still perceiving with ‘Coyley’, I see?

We are drinking in Birmingham and getting the tram to the ground... -
Because games mean something. Every team either have a sniff of top 2, play offs or will be fighting relegation. Compare that with the PL. Most of the league are playing for what exactly, 17th?

He did. As an aside, could you have a more apt wiki profile picture... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Lowe

Why should anyone on a message board give ‘someone time’? If they think he’s been shite they are perfectly entitled to say so, that’s their opinion. Just as someone else is entitled to disagree and explain that he’s 19, unfit, out of position etc. The fans at Ewood and in various away end are the ones that need to ‘give him time’ and he got plenty of support against Leeds and that’s what matters.

The one where BRFCS goes to Brockhall
Mattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Great stuff Ian and team! Really enjoyed the Lenihan interview, obviously a very switched on fella. Me and my Dad used to watch us train at both Pleasington and Pleckgate field, which we walked to from our house, even in the summer of 94! So Brockhall is still a real jewel in our crown and another reason we should always be ever greatful to Jack. -

‘You were top of the league when you finally hounded him out’ ’serves them right after how they treat Kean’ End of the day, he’s not had a sniff of a job at any level in this country since, says it all.

1750 sold up to now and a cash turnstile (imagine that!) on the day. -

They score plenty, but they’ve conceded a load too, 22, similar figures to the bottom three. Another Stoke incoming? -

Personally? From what I’ve seen it would be Rodwell and AN other. Any club, especially one that sees itself as upwardly mobile should be constantly looking to improve the side and he offers said improvement to me. However, you’re right, we would have to serious downturn in results or an injury for a change to be actually made. -
What I would like asked is - Are the club going to actually use the ‘local promotion’ rule, it can be used up to 4 times a season and means we can still charge top whack to sizeable away followings, whilst making it cheap for ours. So instead of doing crap promotions like ‘bring a friend for a...’ for a night match in the middle of winter (I.e last season against Bury and Fleetwood), why not attractive afternoon fixtures like Sheff Wed in December or West Brom on NYD. For me, it’s a no brainer, you can still grab the near £30 from the away fans, whilst making an ATTRACTIVE fixture accessible to ours, get folk back in the habit in a decent atmosphere and crowd.

Rodwell looks the business in midfield, hopefully Mowbray now puts this centre half thing to bed, unless it was a ruse from the beginning to keep the pressure off him. -
It’s because Waggott said the other week something like ‘we’ll be looking to make Ben permanent in January’. I presume a slip of the tongue as I imagine it’s done, but a non - commital politicians answer all the same.

The Championship is a a proper competition, I maybe biased but I find it infinitely more intriguing than the PL. However, I think many Rovers fans over estimated it, i.e we wouldn’t be challenging at the top end because of the spending power/wage bills/parachute payments etc of other clubs. It’s just that’s the Championship rarely works out that way. Despite money thrown around, there’s still a lot of evenly matched squads and a the majority of relegated sides find it hard to adapt. From what I’ve seen, there certainly no Wolves in it this season and it’s as wide open as ever.

Lancashire Clubs - Round Up
Mattyblue replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
There’s no difference, both are currently placed in metropolitan counties, both are still part of the historic county of Lancashire. My take on Merseyside is that it fits well with that particularly unique Scouse identity, something both Liverpool and Everton fans can use etc and it came into its own with the social issues the region had in the 80s. Also Merseyside was made a postal county whilst Greater Manchester never was. Alternatively towns like Wigan, Bolton etc are pure Lancashire towns in culture. The boundaries need sorting out at some point. Humberside, Avon, Cleveland, the other made up counties of the 70s have all been scrapped, so here’s hoping... -
And out of contract in the summer, so that’s that.

We’ll probably have around 400 there, which is to be applauded when you consider £30, red button and it’s a bloody long way with multiple days off work possibly needing to be taken. -

We did, I went for some very strange reason. -
This guy... ? The 'warriors' in his side were given special recognition by Mowbray as they allow the more technically gifted players the chance to shine. He said: “I talk to them about going to war, shine their shields, draw their swords out and go to war really and that’s what this team can do.
