Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st JuneMattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I did see a load of police and horses charge past the Guild Hall at one point. I was hoping it was something and nothing as it will be any excuse to make this fixture 12pm or a bubble...

Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st JuneMattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I thought the BBEnd/JWalker corner was the emergency vehicle entrance?

What the manager is saying in public I hope is different to his actual thoughts on what this team can go on to achieve. Walking from the ground we were generally in agreement that they are a hard working bunch of players, but mid table is the limit of our ambition with them. And that’s fine as a promoted team. Mowbray has talked about this being a project that will take a few windows and it was the owners that needed reining back in the summer. Let’s hope they are still on board as we need to accept that around half the team needs upgrading if we want to progress.

Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st JuneMattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I do imagine plenty of non Ewood attendees will be there today. But it’s a good point. I rang up for an extra ticket when they were on open sale and they didn’t ask who it was for, could have been for a season ticket holder for all they know...

Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st JuneMattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Half the time, half the questions, an agenda with more questions for the Execs would have been collated with more time, obviously. End of the day, I’m not particularly arsed as the meetings are just box ticking, another Fans Forum session with some different people in the room. Waggott doesn’t seem interested in listening to the ideas of fans, so bugger it, give the whole meeting to Mowbray and drop the pretence that the fans are being ‘consulted’ on anything.

Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st JuneMattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard No he shouldn’t, because it takes away attention from off field matters that get less chance of an airing than signings, tactics etc and gets the execs off the hook for half the meeting as the reps hang on Mowbray’s every word. I could listen to Mogga all day, love the bloke. But there should be separate Q&As with managers and players, indeed I went to one a few years back with Allardyce in the Premier Suite.

Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st JuneMattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Funny you say that SG, just watching a piece on Sky with Lambert at Ipswich training. Terry Butcher, John Wark and George Burley were all at the session. I may be wrong, but I assume you don’t have Rovers legends trapping at Brockhall?

Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st JuneMattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I always remember something brewing around 98/99, then we got relegated and it wasn’t brought up again

Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st JuneMattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard In the 90s we had a few games in which thousands of kids were brought from schools. The day of the Le Tiss wonder goal was one. Club was going for the title and we still did it. Now obviously much easier to get kids to come to watch that then Rovers V Brentford, plus are teachers as willing to give up their Saturday, all the risk assessing etc... However, you look over to Stanley and much more certainly needs to be done here.

Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st JuneMattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard It’s been the case a lot this season. West Brom and Stoke had sold about 800 before open sale, we took around 2,000 to both.

Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st JuneMattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard The reps last night did a decent job, but I do think a more specific session needs setting up on actual crowd initiatives the club should be looking into... (Though it doesn’t look as if they’re listening)

Just read his quotes on that article and compare and contrast to his clownshoe predecessor.

Message Board's New Format/LayoutMattyblue replied to Mercer's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard The new font and general look of the threads looks good. The light blue banner and HAL red eye... not sure!

Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st JuneMattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard History proves what? Going from the third division to mid table in the second division isn’t ‘success’ for Blackburn Rovers, so crowds aren’t suddenly going to rise by 4/5000 (to meet Waggott’s break even figure), especially with a 17% increase in price.

Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st JuneMattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard 26,000 Rovers fans paying £10 for a one off promotion party, what’s your point BDS? The fact we haven’t had more than around 12/13,000 home fans for pretty much every other league game since 2012 is a much better barometer.

Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st JuneMattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard In my view, the problem with Waggott is he just doesn’t seem to get the Rovers fanbase. He sees a 31,000 ground and a famous name, so improve the results and gates will improve markedly, not a lot else to do. Sorry Steve, it doesn’t work like that here. We are a club with a limited fanbase, based in a non affluent town with challenging demographics, in a highly competitive region. Season tickets between £320 and £400, match tickets at £24-£30 for mid table Championship football and he expects 16,000 gates? We have 10-12,000 that turn up year in year out, but at this level we have to work hard to get it much higher. We aren’t based in an area like Waggott’s old stomping ground of Coventry, yes they are in the doldrums, but they have a big potential support in a city three times the size of Blackburn and a fanbase that stretches across Warwickshire (no other league clubs to compete with). John Williams got it but it just doesn’t look like this guy will.
