  1. No you’re right. He’ll just get them together at training and go, ‘doesn’t matter that we conceded the same goal twice in five minutes, let’s all have a round of applause for a Sunderland positive tactical change’.
  2. How often do teams score pretty much the same goal twice in five minutes? Eustace prides himself on defensive organisation, so of course he’ll be fuming about it.
  3. They are getting the support they deserve. Larger walk ons than previous seasons every week.
  4. Gueye is very popular with the fans. He’s not been ‘written off’ and he’s been ‘given time’. If someone on here does want to write him off then that’s up to them.
  5. Why? If they were pulling up trees they’d be playing. These are pro clubs, not development teams there to do us a favour - flip it round, maybe they should refuse loans from us if we provide duds.
  6. Oxford, before that the Liverpool cup QF. For a full price league game, Wigan on PL relegation night 2012 - but of course we had far more ST holders then, this is unprecedented for walk ons.
  7. Not fanciful at all. We are attracting casual fans, we now get substantially more walk ons every week than we did a couple of years ago. The key to supplement that is sell more STs as that’s the base of the support in the tent each week regardless of a dip in form, it being a wet day in January, a midweek etc - and that can only happen in the summer. Bit of a feel good factor this season and an enticing offer and we’d sell plenty for next season and we’d see decent gates every week, alas Swag et al aren’t interested.
  8. The Academy exists to provide players for the first team, that’s it. Of course only a handful in the building ever will be provided. Some years are more fruitful than others, but I wouldn’t say there’s an issue generally at the moment. Unfortunately that means a lot of the lads are there just to make up the numbers. They’ll either end up at a Barrow or working in Tesco, that’s the game, it’s brutal.
  9. Oh it is, I don’t have to hear their entitled whining.
  10. Of course 18k home fans isn’t anything to crow about in and of itself, but where we are right now with only 9k ST holders it very much is. Cracking gate, with another one to come in a week or so.
  11. People actually talk to Man Utd (or Liverpool) ‘fans’ about football? Some pathetic armchair fan who should be down at Ewood or wherever else supporting their local team. Feck them, I wouldn’t waste a second of my time engaging them.
  12. Pears is playing well so is getting praise, when he was playing poorly he was slagged off, was ever thus.
  13. The club needs to stop pissing about and get those extra c1,000 on sale in the morning.
  14. Par for the course for the India Cricket Council (ICC).
  15. The Times match report from one of those famous Boxing Day 1963 fixtures.
  16. And of course why did they initially sell the end block (JW side) if it was ‘closed for works?’
  17. Ok, I believe them (🤔). So, presumably the end blocks of the JWL and Riverside will be on sale today instead, if not, why not?
  18. That demand wasn’t obvious a month ago, that’s the point. That second paragraph I’ve not argued with at all. Absolutely no reason the end blocks of the upper tier, JWL and Riverside should not be on sale right now. (‘Works need doing in the upper tier end blocks’ my arse. They initially put the JW side end block of the upper tier on sale, does Sufi think we all have the memory of a goldfish).
  19. Exactly why. But the club couldn’t have foreseen it when the tickets went on sale a month ago.
  20. Higher demand, yes. Highest demand for a league game in 40 years, no. Come on 47er, you’re a sensible poster.
  21. Herbie and J*B (with help from the mods, of course) have taken this place to another level with all the features, podcasts, merch etc. Here’s to a good year for BRFC and BRFCS in 2025 🔵⚪️
  22. Of course I’m not accusing anybody of lying on Santa’s birthday 🎅
  23. That was a tenner for a promotion party/ceremony. Nuance seems to be getting lost here. So: When this game went on sale a month ago did anybody (club included) expect to sell more full price walk ons for this than any league game in 40 years? If you say you did you are lying, pure and simple. However, since then a combination of it being that lot, good form and tickets being on sale through December, I.e ideal presents, folk getting together and thinking ‘yeah let’s go down to that one’ etc. means we’ve had the mother of all spikes in demand. The Rovers wider fanbase is sleeping, but still there.
  24. If Markanday is a Championship level player why has he been sent out to the fourth division despite being at a Championship club for three years?
  25. They’re rattled, they know their position as a club primed for promotions and resulting PL seasons is looking much more shaky than it was. They don’t get back before the parachutes run out, they won’t get back and they’ll be back in front of their 10k gates in their wooden shack before they know what’s hit them.
