  1. Was it not more, ‘Oh shit, we’re doomed!’
  2. Murphy and Etuhu definitely, thought they were just what we needed in midfield. However, I was worried about Leon Best, he had scored one decent goal from what I remember and came across as a right prick. Christ, with all those Portugezzers too, what a debacle that summer was
  3. I think barry and Old Darwen Blue have explained it before, but I can’t remember their rationale, so I’ll let them explain. But we are where are now, so why not fill up N01 with a hundred more singers in a 4,000 or so strong stand, instead of being miles away from anyone in a corner of the JW?
  4. As in they refuse to move there under any circumstances. Nothing more sinister than that.
  5. Do Sky not do something similar with some of their ‘bodies’ when they are running through the teams pre match? Especially if someone signs mid season.
  6. Not sure with this issue. As I know plenty of Blackburn Enders that did, the Wolves walk out was very well attended in the Blackburn End. Its more that the Darren Enders feel they are the bastions of the atmosphere and the Blackburn End gave up years ago. Though in reality as the Darwen End numbers dwindled neither were owt to write home about. But now we’ve got the chance to make it a proper end again - Palace style, so why not go for it?
  7. Unfortunately as we’ve seen on this board there’s a hardcore that have this real issue with the Blackburn End, to the extent where some even talk about stopping going over moving. Bizarre, especially with this team so deserving our support, but there you go.
  8. Two main problems with it - 1) More than half of the league will bring Brentford/Reading esque followings - that’s a hell of a lot of empty seats in an enormous stand. 2) By not helping sort out a new home for the Darwen Enders, you’ve got 500 folk dispersed around 3 stands, so won’t really improve the atmosphere in any of them. But not sure how you can tell the atmosphere is worse from the highlights? The team got the crowd going with their effort and will to win, fans love to see it.
  9. No idea, probably only so many permutations they can add to the fixture list, so some will be actually random.
  10. Never change Vinners!
  11. http://www.uptheclarets.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=32078&sid=62ba134b8c0d4d95fb91b1be5be659db Aye get shut, sure you’ll find someone to have you up there AND play football ‘the right way’
  12. They wore it at Bournemouth yesterday, nowt to do with being ‘change’ kits anymore, simply a money spinner, they’ll just wear it away instead of their home shirt.
  13. Moving three of your Saturday 3pm fixtures just so your team can have more rest (first one being early September!) isn’t something I’ve ever heard before and is setting something of a precedent, no?
  14. Awful game? Was it hell! Two committed teams, and I’ve not been prouder of a Rovers side for years.
  15. 85 miles? Which route do you take?
  16. Oh I think they’ve every chance for top 6, they’ve been knocking on the door for a while, but are they top 2 material? Are they as swashbuckling as Fulham were? With players as good as Cairney, Mitrovic and Sessegnon? Not sure myself.
  17. He was comparing them to Fulham last season, apart from residing in the west of London, can’t see that comparison myself...
  18. Decent enough side, but a few top half Championship finishes instead of their usual lower leagues existence and their fans seem to think they are some kind of purveyors of the beautiful game: http://www.griffinpark.org/forums/showthread.php?t=130677
  19. I do find the Championship generally far more interesting than the PL, much more evenly matched - an actual competition in which a load of clubs start the season hoping for success and not mere survival. However, where do I want Blackburn Rovers to be? For £100 million reasons, the Premier League.
  20. I’d say the ref let plenty go, which I don’t mind, well apart the hack on Rothwell that sent him six foot in the air.
  21. Not the reason according to their official site: ‘The above fixtures have been moved to aid the team’s recovery and alleviate fixture congestion.’ https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/changes-to-city-s-championship-calendar/
  22. Tidy enough side Brentford and our relentless attitude out of possession may have subdued them, but I’m not sure they are this good, Mowbray quote: ‘The manner of it - playing against a really good football team. A team that I'm pretty sure will finish in the top six, if not in the top two, come the end of the season. ‘
  23. We need to remember what damage the Coyle debacle did. We lost 3,000 season ticket holders in one summer on the back of his appointment - meaning a standard crowd with a low away support was just passing 10,000. That standard crowd is now 12,000, not brilliant but it’s 2k up, perhaps it would have been more without a 17% hike in prices. This team derserves more undoubtably, but we need to remember how low our base was after McDonut and how it is so easy to lose fans but how bloody hard it is to get them back.
