Indeed! ’EFL’ is a cracking example of today’s administrators. They didn’t realise (or maybe they did and didn’t care) that they had something already that focus groups and an expensive re-brand couldn’t create - tradition and heritage that gave it gravitas by default. The Football League goes back to the very foundation of the professional game- ‘founder member’ is still a term that means something. Even the emblem went back decades, but they just replaced it with something resembling a washing powder company. The Americans get a lot of stick, but they realise the strength of their sporting brands rests in its traditions - look at baseball - still wear the pyjamas, no sponsorship, the organ music and all that.

Who the feck were those two clubs before oil money? If you play in the ‘EPL’ and the CL year in year out, you sell shirts in the Far East, end of.

I don’t know a single person that gives a toss about Scottish football. I doubt most folk down here could name a single player in the SPL - maybe Scott Brown at a push. No obsession, just this horse fella giving out plenty, but moving the goalposts every time he’s caught out.

Why have Scotland been so poor for 20 years, no qualifications, when - Croatia (4 million) repeatedly qualify Ditto Denmark (5.5) Other smaller nations than Scotland like Slovenia, Bosnia, Slovakia, Albania, Northern Ireland, Wales, Republic of Ireland and Iceland all have? Genuine question to what’s gone wrong in Scotland?

Can I just ask, why has this fella suddenly turned up and proceeded to spend a lot of his time and energy banging on and on about topics - Scottish players and Scottish football generally, that most non-Scots couldn’t give two hoots about? I’m all for new blood on the board, but comparing populations of Croatia and Scotland and their head to head records, bigging up third rate players no bugger has ever heard of outside the central belt etc etc is just quite bizarre...

I would say the English Championship is a pretty good standard for a second tier - the PL on the other hand is abysmal considering the vast amounts of money flowing through it.
