The club ran trains to the game, a bloke I used to work with went, one of his best moments watching the club he said, passed away a few years back sadly.

I seem to recall the standing area down the side of the pitch at The Valley was the biggest in the country at one time. But yes amazing scenes. I often wonder how Ewood managed to fit 62,000 on, our record attendance, even 50k+ gates in 1960's, must have been a squeeze, I hope you didn't want the toilet!

It's the last day of the season 1957/58 and for both sides everything rests on this game. Blackburn visit The Valley needing a win to pip Charlton to promotion to the First Division. Scenes outside the ground as over 56,000 turn up. Teams run on to pitch followed by the briefest of action from Blackburn's 4-3 win. https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=JpEre63cNvo

If you've got the time wilsdenrover, have a scrawl back through the thread, lots of nostalgia to go at, a great read.

We have a nostalgia thread: https://www.brfcs.com/forums/topic/34509-brfcs-tv-nostalgia-thread/page/133/#comments I'd like to know where the picture was taken.

Blackpool the worst team at Ewood this season Asia? Including us at times?

With Dolan scoring the winner tonight, a player that gets you out of your seat at times with his ability. Some of the comments above are just bonkers..

Sunderland’s manager wouldn’t be my first thoughts after a home win against Bpool DE, but I’ll leave that one with you.
-
Yep, we’ve come a long way since the hammering at Rotherham. Hopefully we’ll now push on to claim 2nd place and that final automatic spot.
-
Some posters just can’t let it go….. Good win tonight against a god awful Bpool side, possibly the worst side to come to Ewood this season? Big Mick working his magic. Onwards and sideways.

Thomas hasn't been poor dally, in fact he been one of the better performers, man of the match for me on his debut. But the lad needs games, he's not match fit and lets face it, he's the least of our worries! -

Nothing better than to win a game late on, it had 0-0 written all over it. Having battled through storm Otto tonight myself, I have sympathy for the long track back to South Wales for those Swansea fans, safe journey to you all. Onwards and upwards. -

Blackburn Rovers 2 Swansea 1 Thankfully I gave the Wigan game a miss in protest over the shambles that was our January transfer window, but back for this one and hoping to hear one or two "You're not fit to run the club" chants, but I won't hold my breath. -
It did indeed say 2hrs Atko.

Exactly the same situation as last season….

I found it hard to get into first time around Tyrone, I was comparing it to other classics that had come before, but I intend to give it another go.

The biggest showcase on earth is taking place in Arizona tonight between Chiefs and Eagles. Rihanna is doing the HT/Show with rumours we'll see Jay-Z too. Both teams come into the game with identical records, 16 wins and 3 loses this season, I think despite the superb Patrick Mahomes for the Chiefs, the Eagles win this one with a much better defence, but what do I know, it really is a toss of a coin this one. Get the popcorn in, the chicken wings out of the freezer and the hot sauce in the fridge, its Superbowl night.

Armstrong deal was closer to £20m with addons, the Hampshire press reported.

I thought you point was around the wage structure in general, my mistake.

Started early tonight Simon 🍾

The lad from Forest was coming in on anything between £35-£65k a week according to the leak at the training ground.

I’m surprised 1/2 a season wonder Brereton isn’t getting more flack. He pissed off to Chile last season and was either injured or anonymous after christmas and this season I hear he’s still in U.K. but is equally as anonymous.

It’s a good result booth, decent game too.
