  1. 1) Full Members Cup Final in 87 for me, that day was beyond my wildest dreams, little did I know what was to come. 2) Worthington Cup Final - Just perfect. 3) Anfield 95 - Couldn't get a ticket..... 4) Trelleborg UEFA Cup - Blackburn Rovers? In Europe? Never!
  2. 3 days on and I'm still walking round with my chest stuck out. I can't remember the last time I felt so proud in the team, the fans and the Town, its a great feeling. Fingers crossed we can keep it going. Some of us older gits forget that many of the younger fans that post on here and attend games have never seen the good times at Ewood, Sunday was a a regular occurrence not that long ago and where we need to get back to those days again.
  3. Some great places in that write up Dreams. I spent quite a bit of time at Digbeth Dining Club when I lived down that way. Loved Old Joint Stock, Hen and Chicken Dessi Pub/Indian food to die for. Happy days, great City.
  4. What? How many clubs allow players like Diaz, Lenihan and Rothwell to walk away from the club for free? A club that can't afford to replace the pitch? Not wanting to put a dampener on the recent upturn in form, but I'm not having that philipl.
  5. What is the money split now? A minimum of £100m if you finish bottom of Premiership? Parachute payments £30/£40m? Having just one season back in the top flight is a game changer for any club in our position.
  6. We were discussing this after the game on Sunday and thats the main point here, the club will be in a far stronger position with a season in the Premiership. But the cherry on the cake could well be that these awful owners cut those losses as sod off into the abyss, that is the end game here, fingers crossed.
  7. Got to say that despite the obvious disappointment, Blackburn Rovers football club are well and truly back on the map. My phone hasn't stopped today with people wanting to discuss the game, great attacking football, how unlucky we were, tremendous support, promotion, play offs, JDT and Sam Szmodics! We are no longer "Just that club run by chicken farmers" We are back on the map!
  8. Crystal Palace away, I'll never forget it, stuck in that bloody traffic jam. I can still feel the pain now...
  9. Just a word on that annoying swine with the mic, he welcomed the team on to the pitch as Sheffield Wizards and called Bramall Lane one the best stadiums in the world! Now I'm all for a bit of home team biased, but that is stretching it a bit! Has anyone ever heard of them being called the wizards? Wednesday fans call them the pigs and the ground is a corrugated iron mess! On the flip side they played some decent tunes, got the blood pumping.
  10. I was in a pub after the game which had a spattering of United fans in, its very much Wednesday territory in that area. The joviality turned to absolute despair when the Semi-Final draw came out, this woman lost the plot, almost started crying and swiftly left the pub with poor hubby trying to finish his pint, "We might as well not chuffing bother" she screamed as she stormed out. I don't begrudge them the win, thats football, but I had a moment where I thought: "Serves you ******* right" 🤣
  11. Just seen the Tyler Morton incident before the 3rd goal, he should never play for the club again on the basis of the 1 angle I've just seen. He dropped to the floor and led there motionless, whilst his team mates scrambled to try and stop the attack, leaving time and space middle of the pitch for Doyle to score. That incident, on the evidence I've just seen, is everything that is wrong with modern day footballers.
  12. He's paid to score goals, if he'd done that yesterday we'd have won, but the lad ran himself into the ground, never gave the Sheff Utd defenders a minute and as usual defended like his life depended on it, you can't fault a player like that in my book. Just on Gallagher, 2 blokes stood in front of us yesterday, middle aged chaps with heart rates approaching 150 beats a minute I'd wager, slagging Gallagher off for most of the match, when in fact 9/10 times it was Diaz 🤣
  13. Says it all really. Despite the obvious disappointment, the town should be loud and proud tonight. Those players were tremendous today against a side that has been assembled for 10's of millions £££, most of which hasn't been paid, so administration could be looming for the cheating bastards in red and white. Onwards and upwards.
  14. First of all, can I say Happy Mothers Day to Mrs Tyrone senior. Just on Szmodics, that lad epitomises everything about this current side thats great, he's been an excellent buy after a slow start. Today he ran himself into the ground, never gave the United defenders a rest and gave plenty to the home fans to, he's worth the admission price alone and was a strong 8 today.
  15. Gutted, but extremely proud. I can’t add much more right now, but we should all be bursting with pride. This head injury stuff doesn’t wash, play to the whistle.
  16. Stunning morning over here in Yorkshire, for all those fans coming over Snake/Woodhead pass you'll see what I mean as you climb over the tops. I don't know about anyone else, but I've not felt this way about Rovers in many a year. I went to bed at 9pm last night, the Mrs spent the next few hours trying to find what I'd bought or what I'd broke! We've arranged to meet friends before the game for some breaky: "We know a place that does avocado, fruit and pancakes" was the suggestion from the Sheffield lot. "I'm from Blackburn, I not eating ******* avocado before an FA Cup Quarter Final" was the reply, I'll let you know how the sausage sandwiches are! Safe journey everyone, lets hope this amazing support that has stuck with the club gets its just deserts today and for the rest of the season. Might chuck a 'livener' in my coffee, she'll never know. Come on Rovers!
  17. Could be 10 this, dingle ****’s. I hope the trains are cancelled and the motorway is closed, let them walk back to the land that time forgot.
  18. FA Cup games are unpredictable, form goes out of the window. With 6000 fans in blue and white roaring the side on anything is possible. I told the Mrs I want to set off to game now, she pointed out I’m not as young as I used to be and would be lucky to see 12am tonight, let alone 12pm kick off tomorrow…… Rugby it is then 🙄😂
  19. https://www.thepiecehall.co.uk/event/the-charlatans-and-johnny-marr/ Just been announced, Johnny Marr & Charlatans at Halifax Peace Hall in August, direct train from Blackburn too. Some decent events coming up - https://www.thepiecehall.co.uk/culture/
  20. What a tune SG, what a band, superb stuff, I salute you 👍
