Middlesex, not won in 14 games, just beat Surrey chasing down 252 with 4 balls to spare and won by 7 wickets! T20 at its best.

I used to love watching England away, more than Rovers most of the time, even with everything that came with it. I saw the England fans on YouTube in Malta thinking, nah, I'd not fit in with that lot, nor would they want me to either! As you say it was fun whilst it lasted matt83.

Forgive me for posting a link to possibly the worst rag out there, but Oliver Holt is a decent journalist and puts one or two back in the box with this assessment of the first test. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-12216307/OLIVER-HOLT-Test-match-not-mistakes-glory.html

Whilst it was disappointing to lose, the gap has closed considerably since the mauling we got last time around. **Gav staying positive**

Bairstow is in for his runs mainly, he cost us this time around with the gloves, no doubt about that, but the best place to get back to match fitness is in the middle for me, but I do fully accept its a risk. Will he be picked for Lords is the question.
-
Absolutely, me too.

Stokes declared with a view to the weather on day 2, which were overcast conditions throughout the morning and England took 3 wickets, left Aussies on 64/3, job done and for me shows the declaration was the right decision. What happened after that, Moeen injury and shelving 5 excellent chances did for us, not the declaration in my opinion 47er.

Dropped catches lost us this test, his record as captain is outstanding.
-
Spot on chaddy, don’t forget WINNING cricket too. Stokes record speaks for itself: Ten wins in 12 as captain, famous victories over New Zealand, India, South Africa and Pakistan, all through a style of play in his image, underlined Stokes' worth as a captain. The individuals and the team have not just mimicked his approach to cricket but also his approach to all of them.

You’ve got to give the Aussies credit for snatching that game away from England in the manner they did. Cummins and Lyon were superb at the end under tremendous pressure at a sold out Edgbaston. The public can’t get enough of this current England side, tickets are like gold dust, can’t wait for Lords!
-
They say with age comes wisdom, what absolute tripe! Great test, England lost this in the field shelving 5 golden chances to take Aussie wickets. Cummings knock was superb, credit where credits due. Can’t wait for the next test.
-
Absolutely enthralling, theatre, test match cricket at its best and after 5 days it could go either way. Come on England 🏴

Can't see us starting on time today, its raining heavily at the moment, but when we do, in overcast conditions, we should be swinging this duke ball round corners. Tighten up in the field, we gave to many fours away yesterday, get Khawaja early and we win the first test, weather permitting. Come on England.

He couldn’t have moved further away had he tried, I wonder if a woman scorned is involved.

Great theatre, outstanding by Broad.

Matt Parkinson leaving Lancs and joining Kent at end of year.

Money always talks in the end matt83..... I don't know any poor professional golfers, certainly not at the level you talk about above. If you have £50m in your bank whats the difference between £50m and £100m? You and your family are all made for life and living a life of luxury on £50m, its just greed in my opinion, ruining sport across the world.

A little unfair @AllRoverAsia, the conditions were perfect for Cummins and Boland at that point with movement due to overcast conditions, but nonetheless they're out and we need to battle back today as you say, in what looks like much favourable conditions for batting. Just on a side note, me and you have had many years following the ashes on here, mostly me trying to stay awake when played in Australia or you running to the shop for another bottle of beer when played over here!

I think you hit the nail on the head, he’s a good appointment, probably the best manager around that’s available to Celtic. If he wins things all will be forgotten, nowt as fickle as football fans.
-
Brendon Rodgers back as Celtic manager by all accounts, good manager in my opinion. I wonder how the Celtic fans who created the song ‘I hope you die in your sleep Brendon Rodgers’ feel about his return…..
-
Oh yes, can’t see this starting again today, but the wind has picked up and could blow this through.
-
Yes. I think the recent UKIP support by Morrissey swung it.

This pitch is going to deteriorate, I’m worried about Moeen’s hand, he seems to be struggling and we need him desperately. England in the box seat after the last 45mins where they’ve been superb. Quick runs and aggressive declaration? You wouldn’t bet against it.
