  1. All the best lads and lasses. Can I say special thanks to the mods who keep this site running and everyone in check, it’s a Labour of love for those guys and done on a voluntary basis. 👍
  2. Rubbish with respect Bruce. Sunderland are a big club in waiting with massive support, the catchment area outside of the Sunderland is full of sheep, cows and Mags, the local support from a deprived area of the country is impressive. Sunderland 1 Rovers 1
  3. We had just played United in FA Cup live in BBC, hence all the flags on the railings. Mate if mine sent me this a few months back, City fan, it was his first visit to Ewood watching City, he's certainly had mixed results since he pointed out.

    Closing down WDWY

I speak for myself only here. I'm pretty laid back about much of what goes on in these pages, but I think you need to consider the fact the site is now subscription based, you have a duty to the members who contribute and decisions like this in future could cause issues. Thanks for taking the time to reply Mods and I wish all of you and your families a great Christmas and Happy New Year. You all do a tremendous job and that often goes unrecognised.
  5. Some decent Rovers footage at the start of this, away to Watford 73 with 600 Rovers fans who travelled on the league liner name checked and filmed, were you one of them? Apologies if it’s been posted previously.

    Closing down WDWY

Yes I saw the reason, it doesn't make any sense to me. Are you doing the same on the other side of the forum? Which is far worse but moderated?
  7. Just trying to understand the reasoning behind this? I'm hoping its for site maintenance rather than the bickering? The matchday threads and world cup thread are far worse places to be for posters than WDWY in my opinion. Thanks
  8. Great to be back in Blackburn today, although that floor in The Mall was bloody treacherous! Love this pic near railway station.
  9. That trophy presentation was horrendous, I’d have thrown that cape at the sheik, covering up my national shirt. Messi ended up looking like James Brown the godfather of soul! But take nothing away from the football, the best final I’ve ever seen, doubt I’ll see better in my lifetime.
  10. We are just saying the same thing, lucky.
  11. I saw a old Sky segment where Warne picked him out as a 12/13yr old as one to watch, said he’d play at the highest level and he knew a thing or two about leg spin. 🤞
  12. Stop making things up. Only one person on this site talking in such terms and that’s you tomphil. Great win, Gallagher instrumental, just enjoy it.
  13. Absolutely made up for the fans that travelled. It’s a funny old game….
  14. Is that Sutton trying to catch Newell? Playing in his original position of centre back?
  15. After losing the toss, England have dismissed Pakistan for 304, this time in less than a day on a very flat wicket, tremendous effort. A long way to go in this one, but a great effort and the new leg spinner Ahmed takes 2 on debut.
  16. Safe journey to the Rovers fans making the trip today. Every single one of you are a credit to the club and the town for making this trip in these conditions. I hope you bring the points back with you.
  17. I disagree on Gallagher, he’s been an automatic pick since he arrived, but I’ll defer to the experts that keep picking him, I agree with them.
  18. Gallagher is a very good player, does the hard yards, we miss him when he doesn’t play. Yes he could score more goals, but managers keep picking him, I wonder why?
  19. It comes with the territory, he was exceptional when paying fees for players, no wonder he was kept around so long.
  20. Test match cricket has always been about not losing rather than winning, its ingrained into the fabric of the game across the globe. I'm surprised its taken this long for a new approach to the game, but I'm delighted its England leading the way as den says above. The only problem moving forward, you have to get into a commanding position to adopt this approach and against the Aussies in recent times we've been blown away far to often.
  21. Did you get to the derby game whilst in Argentina @Ianrally? On my bucket list, maybe next year.
  22. Get Doris to check your pulse, Messi doesn’t excite you 🤣 Lordy Lordy…..
  23. The Falklands was a long time ago, the world has moved on, so should you. What tremendous support once again by Argentina fans.
  24. Southgate needs to be kept at all costs, I think he struggles with the pressures of England management, all the outside stuff rather than football related. But we have no outstanding candidates right now, which is another reason to make sure he stays on for me. As for Rodgers, I rate him as a club manager, he was excellent at Liverpool I thought, but the fans always wanted a bigger name, he lasted longer than I thought he would.
