  1. The touts outside the stadium are pricing them at double your money. £550 for a £285 ticket. Plenty for sale if you're willing to pay. Then there's option B and wait to the very last moment trying to call their bluff.
  2. Totally, but the club has changed big time in terms of people in position of knowledge. Its a long time ago since I could post the team for each match 24 hours in advance on here knowing it was the case and that Kazim Richards was telling people on twitter privately whats going on behind the scenes. I don't think anybody at all can confidently call transfers anymore, the only one that has proved they can is the Sky Sports guy on twitter but he's only ever a couple of hours in advance of an official announcement. Combined to this, we have an actual scouting process now which has been implemented by Mowbray. So when tiny bits are told to people, its often they're only one on the list - e.g. McNulty (which 3 independent people told me - all off here) and Adekanye (told by a journalist) probably where targets, its just we signed different players instead - Armstrong in Adekanye's case. What i'm loathed to do is create a culture of people questioning every single rumour on here again which has already seen the likes of Kamy (who has genuine contacts at Ewood) and Nicko (who once upon a time did have genuine contacts at Ewood, although I admit it did go a bit weird in the end) leave the website and leave us all just guessing. Theres a good 2/3 people still left here that post and get info - it won't always be right - but its worth taking everything is a 'decent rumour' and nothing more.
  3. A little context only causes more chaos on here - if he says 'a reliable source' or 'someone at the club' all he will get is "WHO!"
  4. Perhaps if he does say who has told him and it comes out, the position who has told him may be put in an awkward position?
  5. A left forward, centre forward , central midfielder and a right forward. Tremendous.
  6. Before we start this weeks episode, its worth noting its a 9 hour special...
  7. A genuine journalist - not a FLW writer!
  8. I was told this morning by a strong source we're rivalling Reading for Marc McNulty. Fee expected around 1m. We shall see.
  9. Sounds like we're after Gwion Edwards - in the papers today.
  10. Harsh to put Hoddle in the poor manager category.
  11. Sounds like he's more of a deep playmaker than a tackler according to Burton fans. Points towards 3-5-2 if you ask me.
  12. It's the same thing. Wage budget, renewal budget, transfer budget, all out the same pot. When has anyone ever come out and said we have a Xm renewals budget?
  13. There isn't such thing as a "transfer budget", there's a budget for contract renewals, agent fees, transfer fees and wages. That is 18m, 10m higher than last year (so I've been told). Which is why there are target lists A, B and C. If you allocate a large section of the budget for one player on the A list you'll have to look at players on the C list for other position. Worth remembering not many transfers are paid up front, so if we sign a 1million pound player on a 4 year deal in most cases that 1m would be split up over 4 years, in some form, e.g. 400k, 300k, 250k, 150k.
  14. Whole spend for 2018/19 season. Renewals of Conway and Graham probably take out 1m. Rothwell probably around 750k? That's 8.25m left for the season.
  15. Circa 8m operating budget in League 1. Circa 18m in the Championship. Or so I've been told. If true, don't worry, the signings will come. We will see within the next 2 or 3 weeks.
  16. Football clubs don't work with specific "transfer budgets"... they have yearly club budgets which cover all expenses including agents, wages etc. If we only sign players on 5k a week we will have money spare for transfers, alternatively we could get a load of frees on 20k a week.
  17. Inverted wingers play on the wing but instead of running down the line they move inside and play almost number 10. See Arjen Robben.
  18. Sounds like a fella called Prakash: He wants 25k for it: https://flippa.com/3409833-venkyschicken-com
  19. Nope, if Rothwell is anything to go by nobody's getting the right info either!
  20. I heard the total budget for transfers, agents, contract renews and wages this year is 10m more than last year. Contract renewals of Conway and Graham mean we have 8.8 left before Rothwell.
  21. Good player. Under 23 so will have to pay something - agreed it upfront rather than compo.
  22. I don't anyone feels they 'are entitled' to know... but I can understand why people feel they 'need to know'. Many people think the club has been run poorly in the past and can evidence this with the numerous management structures that have been in place under Venkys. I don't think its a lot following this to ask for reassurances on how the club is run now. Clearly people have this feeling and a decent PR company would advise transparency after years of chaos followed by one year of success. Theres an opportunity to explain how things have changed.
